Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

Thanks, mine is 9.3x57 & the bore/chamber are in A-1 shape. I'll be using Bullet Barn 280 gr. cast boolits in 'er. I'll be bedding the action next & install either a Timney or Huber trigger to finish the job.

bjmurata: This rifle is only my second Husqvarna (First one was a 9000 in .270 in the late 70's) and I wish I'd grabbed one of these 46's a few years back. Love the look and feel of these buggers.:)
OK,you are officially hooked,no hope for you now and no going back. It's only going to pick up steam from here on in.

Got to keep this great thread going.
Here's a 1958 Vintage model 4100 30-06 that was my late hunting partner . His wife was going to turn it over to the RCMP after his passing . I was able to talk her into letting me take keep it.
This rifle has taking everything from Buffalo-Moose-Elk-Mule + Whitetail Deer with his pet load of 180gr Hornady 180gr Interlock SP with 57.0gr IMR4350.
I did a refinished the stock recut the checkering and removed the old whiteline recoil pad and replace it with a solid black pad .

Very nice and very similar to the model 4100 I inherited when my Dad passed away. I've posted this previously.

When my days with it are over, It'll be passed on to my Granddaughter, one of the few other right handers in the family.

It's the rifle that got the call for my first Mule Deer hunt on draw in AB a few years back.

Thanks Baribal , maybe someday if his grandson ever want to take up hunting, his Grandpa Husky will be ready to use , and with much pride I will hand it over to him with a few tears in my eyes with all the great memories that his Grandpa and I had with that great rifle and the game that we packed out and the wonderful stories that were told around the campfire after the hunt .

Based on what I've read here I've got a 1600 made in the early 1960s. I'm thinking about getting a Boyds stock for it. I think I want to order the stock for the small ring Mauser but I'm not sure. Any advice from people who have already ordered one?
It has a slide safety and the almost 20.5" barrel. S/N 253###A
Cheers!

EDIT; Let me know if I should post any other pics to ID it. ;)

Just acquired this a few days ago! Husqvarna 1600 in 30-06. I am so excited to have this in my locker! And it shoots incredibly well - see target below. It is in amazing clean condition. Rear tang is pillar bedded with full length barrel bedding, trigger job, lapped Talley rings fitted with an Elite 3200 3 x 9 scope. Serial number is 311*** so I think this is of 1967 vintage.

Here's the first round of load development.

Guys I started a new thread looking for some info here, if you guys could check it out and leave any input that would be great! I'm lacking some info but I'm hoping to get somewhat of an idea

Why not simply bring it up here? That way, all infos will be kept together, for the benefit of all the communauty.
But I'll look at your post anyways.

A lot of sight hoods fit, but the original ones are very difficult to come by and there's no way to tell if they really are "originals" as there's no marking on them.

Yeah sorry about that, I didn't see this thread until after I made mine. Just need to know what to offer for a husqvarna 220 swift. All the info I have right now is it says 1952 on the barrel as I haven't seen the rifle yet

Anyone ordered a Boyds stock for their 1600?

Well, as I answered in your thread, I can't say what this "1952" might be. The caliber .220 Swift was added in '49 with the final "commercial" action form, and lasted 'til '53, and maybe even later. Husqvarna did not use to stamp the year of manufacture on their guns, so my best guess for now is a part of the serial number.
It was based on the "commercial" FN 98 action, and it's not a very common find.
Try getting some pictures and 'ill be able to further help you.

What a great thread. I read the stuff at the beginning and it is really helpful. So from what I saw this model is a late 1600/1640 given the bolt release, safey ( the slide kind) and the shape of the back. My Dad traded for this 30-06 sometime in the late 70's I think. It has the flip up rear sight, front sight and original cap and plastic butt. Is there a repaired crack at the back of the action which seems quite common ? My Dad gave me the rifle ( and some really family heirloom guns) as he is now almost 80 and is using my lightweight rifle for hunting. the 182*** serial number I think puts it around 1956 which doesn't seem right to me.
Anyway, can anyone give me some more info ? worth ? worth keeping ?
