Sherman tank for sale at Collector source

The diesel engined M4A2E8 was only used by the Cdn Army in Canada post ww2. Cdn troops in Korea used the US Army standard M4A3E8 with the Ford V8 gas engine. These were provided from US Army stocks in theatre. Cdn troops initially deployed to Korea with the 17pdr armed M10 tank destroyer but these were set aside because their open topped turret and lack of hull mounted and co-ax MGs made them vulnerable to enemy infantry at close range.

I learned to drive a diesel Sherman 50 yrs ago and would love to take a turn at the tiller bars again.

Me and some buddies went to the D-Day reenactment in Ohio and they had a restored sherman there for it (owned by Husky).

They were firing blank shells off every hour that weekend and let me tell you, there was a little bit of knee buckling when that bad boy went off

Must resist selling house to buy tank . . . So hard . . . who needs indoor plumbing! Will the bank mortgage a tank if you live in it?

Pfft - who needs dies... Just get Gunadapters to machine a .22LR adapter for it, and you can shoot it all day for peanuts. :)

Edit: Was probably only $100,000 until someone found out it was a Long Branch, now it's $300,000 - sheesh!

Requires 200 GALLONS of fuel and you can't drive it alone. Requires a crew commander too.
If that's the one from the Exhibition Postie Incident, I know the owner. There are other stories about Donnie. Funny guy. Told the accident investigating cop, when he was asked where he thought he was going in his tank afterwards. "It's not a tank. It's a drill. A long range, remote control, drill." and drove off.
Yep, a PAL is required. Single shot rifle. snicker.

It is the Sherman from the "Postal Event"
The guy was so busy looking at the Tank, he did not see the barrel!!.. Good thing the turret was not locked... Just bent a hatch!

Cheers

"In the Toronto Area". Probably Jane & Finch. Still, it would be nice to park in your driveway and point at the neighbor's place across the road.
