So I got a hankering for a cool tactical pump shotgun.

Vang comp an 870 police magnum ?. Check out the "show me your tactical shottys" thread, lots of pics and ideas.
A weekend of nights checking out the ideas of others had me building a shotty like the ones in first person shooting games lol

I just bought a new 870 P that is getting the full vang comp treatment by Casey at Tac Ord. Getting it Cerakoted as well. Should be pretty slick when it's all done.

I faced the same decision last year, and ended buying a 590A1 SPX and an 870 (...and a 14" 590A1). I've got them decked out in completely different furniture/configurations and I love them both.

The whole bayonette gimmick is a bit disappointing though, as it falls off when the gun is fired. (What will I do when the zombies come?)

I find the front sight too tall for the elevation limits of the rear XS GRS on that model.

I own and prefer this 590A1.

Interesting... you don't see many 8+1 capacity models with the plain stock. Is $629 the best price on this model?

To the OP, I can't say enough good things about Fabarm shotguns, I have their shorty that is just a dream...

I just picked up a 870 express tactical with magpul stock in fde which comes cerakoted love it worth the money can even hit clays with it. Gonna throw a red dot on it and it'll be good the mag tube is smooth and easy to load.

I bought an 870P and really like it, though, when I first got it...the rear sight was crooked. Took allot of back and forth with the dealer, then Gravel Agency, then the dealer again. Eventually got it sorted out, and I use the gun all the time. Got all the bits and pcs. to hunt with it too now (mag cap, shorter mag spring, plug and 28" VR barrel) so its a pretty cool "platform". Pretty ominous looking at the local trap club, but most people probably think it's an Express. :)

Bought a "corn cob" stock set from (what the seller told me) was a 1951 Wingmaster. Refinished it. Looks pretty spiffy/old school. :)

My chubby form dusting gophers with the same set-up last summer. The inspiration for getting the same set-up. The gun is the epitome of "cool" if you ask me. Not me of course...but the gun. :)
