Reloaded some 9.3x64 cartridges yesterday for an upcoming trip to the range. Cases were full length sized in RCBS dies and loaded as per normal. Cartridges were then run through the rifle to check for ease of chambering. Chambering was not easy at all. Bolt handle had to be pushed down with a fair amount of pressure in order to chamber the cartridges. The cases were once fired factory rounds that had been previously fired in this chamber. Bolt handle actually broke in half! Most distressing! Rifle is a Berlin Wilhelm Brenneke 98. Reloaded case diameters were measured at the web, above the web, midway up the case and at the shoulder. Measurements agree with new factory round measurements. Could the problem be with the dies? Thinking of maybe machining a few thou off the base of the sizing die and trying again (after bolt gets repaired). I have to say I've never run into this situation before. Also noticed that some brass was being shaved by the bottom of the chamber during feeding, again only on the reloaded cartridges. Bolt face covered with brass shaved of the case bases.
