Problem with dies?

Reloaded some 9.3x64 cartridges yesterday for an upcoming trip to the range. Cases were full length sized in RCBS dies and loaded as per normal. Cartridges were then run through the rifle to check for ease of chambering. Chambering was not easy at all. Bolt handle had to be pushed down with a fair amount of pressure in order to chamber the cartridges. The cases were once fired factory rounds that had been previously fired in this chamber. Bolt handle actually broke in half! Most distressing! Rifle is a Berlin Wilhelm Brenneke 98. Reloaded case diameters were measured at the web, above the web, midway up the case and at the shoulder. Measurements agree with new factory round measurements. Could the problem be with the dies? Thinking of maybe machining a few thou off the base of the sizing die and trying again (after bolt gets repaired). I have to say I've never run into this situation before. Also noticed that some brass was being shaved by the bottom of the chamber during feeding, again only on the reloaded cartridges. Bolt face covered with brass shaved of the case bases.

The reloaded ammo didn't break the bolt handle. The crack you mention on the Gunsmithing forum did that.
Highly unlikely to be any die issue. Possibly the die wasn't tight in the press though and didn't get resized properly. Take out the decapper and size one again.
Check the OAL? Cases checked for length?

Well, Sunray seems to have the answer for the broken bolt handle, something you didn't mention on this post!

You're right, my mistake for not mentioning it on this post. However, the fact that the bolt had to be worked harder caused the remainder of the bolt to let go. The original crack appears to have been there for a number of years. Case overall length is OK. Die was down to the shell holder.

Dude! This is the first post from you I have seen that actually makes sense. Gotta give kudos where deserved!

Read your set up instructions for the die. It says screw the die down untill it makes contact with the shell holder then lower the ram and turn the die in another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. If you are only turning the die in untill it makes contact with the shell holder you are not full lengh sizing your brass you are only neck sizing it

Yes, I have done just that.
