I believe you're thinking of the FN CAL, which was a post FAL design, but pre FNC. The FNC is on the prohibited list, but the CAL is not.

It's all good. For the record, I'd take any of those 3 choices if circumstances changed. The FAL or FNC if they ever get off the prohibited list, or the CAL if someone ever started producing them again.

So when did HK make a semi G3 ?
They didn't they made a semi HK91
If you dad has a G3(as stated by you) it is 12.3 converted auto
If your dad has a HK91 it is a 12.5
I don't know why this is so hard to understand
