Great Mysteries of the Sporting Arms World

Why do some people still buy 10/22s? They are unreliable and inaccurate. A gun shouldn't need "tweaking" just to work properly.

Cult following, urban myths, olds wives tales. Who knows?

Cuz they are fun???

Like Merkel shooters who blast off SKS's to blow off steam.... fun.

I have played with dozens of 10/22's and full custom clones... but the only one in the safe now is my daughter's Pinky Build... which makes me think I need another one... I have a bazillion 25 round mags kicking around and a few cases of ammo... can't burn that up anytime soon in my CZ bolt actions....

So there you have your answer; the 10/22 is the "Chinese Food" of the firearm world... right after getting one you think; "why did I do that..." and right after selling one you think; "I think I need another one."

9) Why sighting in 3 " high is vastly better than aiming 3 " higher.

10) Why weighing a bullet determines whether an animal is dead.

11) Why using a new magnum on large/dangerous game hunt is the sign of a novice, but getting some miles on the same gun on a deer hunt is a sign of a novice with small-#### syndrome.

Why do people on CGN continue to post "unboxing" videos and photo series? Do they actually think that anyone gives a crap about how pee-in-the-pants excited they were when they unwrapped that new Mossberg?

On the other hand, Ardent...if you made one of those, you'd have something to refer to when it comes time to get the Ruger back into the box...:)

Did Savage ever make anything after the 99 that wasn't a POS?

Does anyone really take pride in their Mossberg, or is it a secret like that ### uncle the family only ever sees at funerals?

Do the designers of the Remington 710 and 770 sit around laughing every time someone buys another?

I enjoy my Savage 340s. Cheap effective and interesting calibres.

 Could be handy! The unboxing trend has perplexed me too... They're treated like a barn find Shelby GT500!

Yep, I like 10/22s too! As do many I enjoy sharing time with.

I'd like to open with,

"Did a Ruger ever actually fit in its factory box?"

Why is it that when I finally decide which make, model and caliber of rifle I am going to treat myself to, the only one I can find in the country is a left-handed version?

Why is it that a [insert long-desired rifle here] only shows up on the EE immediately after I make another major expenditure on something I only wanted half as much?

Why is it that my wife and/or children only get stay-at-home-sick on the few days of the year I manage to take off with plans to go to the range?

Why is it that the wife has no sympathy for me on these days?

Why is it that Cooper charges me extra for providing my own stock blank, despite me thereby saving them the cost of their own?

This! I would not have bought my most recent No. 1 (although I do really like it) if Ardent had posted his RSM a few weeks earlier. Oh well.

Is Norinco trying to match the other brands in quality, or are the other brands trying to produce Norinco quality firearms? (yikes)
