I think people should take a long hard look as where and who they are getting these mags from
Another mag has poped up and is said to be canadian made, but anyone can see , these are just remarked C products mags.
Please think , we would l0ve to have 16 rd mags just like everyone else. But not at the exspence of breaking the law, as stupid a law as it is.

Did I miss something? Beo mags are breaking the law?

Was there a decision made about the mags that were, are, or are going to be coming in that I didn't see?

....you mean to say www. fringefirearms.com doesn't look like a legit website?? ;)

I would be surprised if anyone other than maybe Colt Canada is making metal 20round-sized mag bodies in Canada

They would be breaking the law if someone just took a regular 5.56 mag and engraved 50 Beo on it and called it a day, as dumb as the law may be.

Okay so turn off the machine. Make decision to produce .50 beo mag. Turn back on machine and block to proper level.

Legal.

And you thought it would be good to highlight this on a public forum?

Methinks someone is related to JR Cox

Yes I do think bring it to light is a good thing
This will only fall on fellow gun owners.

Please Do not compare us to JR, the the worst thing anyones said to me in years.

People are trying too make a quick buck with this product and its going to have a big impact on the gun owners.
Lots of legal ways of getting mags that hold moore then 5 rounds.

I will be screwing off my comp and throwing it in the garbage this morning. If you feel this strongly about it phone the maker all it sounds like to me is someone doesn't like there being a new business but hey maybe your right that would mean any after market would not be legit thanks.

No issue with new biz, I support many oother Cdn gun companies.

I've just seen this before, and almost always ends badly.

If someone is re-marking .223 magazines and passing them off as something else, they are setting their customers up for problems.

50 beo is a patented cal, does that mean only they can make parts for it I doubt you would get a reamer made in 50 beo, if the new maker has a 50 beo in his possession and the new mags hold and feed 5 rounds good, if that's not good enough I would say any non factory would be painted with the same brush. This is such a wonderful Tuesday morning topic you should gather up samples and send them in for examination maybe get a patent lawyer involved.

This is nothing whatsoever to do with patents. It has to do with the origin of the magazines in question. If they are manufactured from the get go as Beowulf magazines, there is no problem. If they are magazines originally designed and manufactured for .223, and subsequently altered there is a real legal problem. Taking an existing .223 magazine, reworking and re-marking it is problematic. Anyone selling this sort of magazine needs to know to a certainty that their customers aren't going to be compromised.

Thinking I should cancel my months ago pre order with another outfit and just stick with the AA Mags.

I'm less than comfortable when not even lip service is paid to using these for .50 cal.

Badge engineering at its most basic...

Then do what your heart desires get them shut down there selling a year in jail to anyone who buys one phone the police immediately, you have spoken to them and or examined them and they are not legit manufactured right Jr
