Then do what your heart desires get them shut down there selling a year in jail to anyone who buys one phone the police immediately, you have spoken to them and or examined them and they are not legit manufactured right Jr

Its not just these new guys. Last year a cmpany oout west was selling C prooducts 30rd 223 mags pinned 10rds as a 10rd 2223 pistol mag.
I think the issue here may be with the MFG.
Surely they should be able to provide. Proof that these new 50 mags meet our stupid laws.

If the mags are illegal, being warned of it isn't being thrown under the bus. The concern has been published on this forum by multiple users, not just bbb.

C Products is on record as stating they aren't yet producing or delivering beowulf mags, but one dealer has them and is swearing up and down that they got them from C products.

Source says they don't make them. Supplier says they have them.

If the source only makes 233 mags, then the c products beowulf mags are converted from 223 rifle mags and thus are still 223 rifle mags. If that is the case, then they are prohibited.

Under the law, that would be no different than taking a 5/30 pmag, repinning it to ten and writing "pistol mag" on it with a jiffy marker. Or pinning it to 16 and marking it beowulf.

The consumer is on the liability hook here just as much as the supplier if the mags aren't built right.

I don't see how that's any different than the actual AA ones. its not like they are anything other than repurposed mags either.

Does it show how stupid the law is? Yes. Does it take away the legal jeopardy while the law is in place? No.

Think of it this way. If the receiver is the gun, the metal body is the mag. Everything else is just an accessory attached to the regulated part. (See BC Court of Appeal case law. Possession of unpinned mag bodies alone was sufficient for conviction for possession of prohibited mags.)

If the mag body is originally designed and built from scratch with the intention of fitting one type of rifle or pistol in a specific calibre, that sets it's limit.

Just like a receiver if forged to be a full auto receiver, but is never assembled into a full auto gun, but is instead is made into a semi auto, it will be called a converted auto because of the intent at time of manufacture. This was the issue with 3 or the 4 types of 858.

Parallels in the law and how wording works in the Firearms Act.

If these mag bodies started out life as C Products 20 round 223 mags, they aren't beowulf designed mags. Lancing them, repinning them etc would just be making a prohibited 223 rifle mag.

Well I probably won't throw it in the garbage but one business saying another business is doing something unlawful didn't work out well last time did it. If they don't have a hate on for there competitor phone them and discuss it private like now there getting bashed in another thread maybe they should be trying to cash in on a trend.

C products says they don't make or currently supply beowulf mags. That is the manufacturer. What does that say about the company supplying the mags? And the mags themselves.

As a responsible gun owner, you have the responsibility not to be blissfully and willfully unaware of what is happening. It could bite you, and the community as a whole in the butt.

And the company selling them better be on the up and up. Because if they aren't, short term fly by night profit will bite us and them in the butt too.

If that's the case, then the borders placed by Hi Cal, SFRC and the others won't be getting filled. But Hi Cal has said that they have tested these and they are running fine in the .50 rifle it was intended for.

Those orders from everything I've read are still waiting for legit production to commence. C Products does not currently produce the mag, but talks are in place.

But one store, and one store only has supply of something the manufacturer doesn't yet make.

Potentially modified for. Do they work? Yes. Did they start out life born as 50 beowulf mags? Potentially no. And if no. Then illegal.

Time will tell.

yes but if these mag bodies were decided to be .50 beo at the time of production they are Beowulf designed mags and that would make them legal, regardless of comparable appearance.

I am happy to see the warring, as much as I love to have/use a .50 beo mag but at what price? Eighter when purchasing these or after when the RCMP lay the charges..... Wonder where these dealers, manufactures stand at that point.... Will they foot my legal bills? Prob not. At this time I'm sticking to my Lar 15 mags.

The reason SFRC was giving is that they were waiting for a sample to go to the RCMP to approve it. Which doesn't occur.

Best bet for people wanting more clarity would be to take some pictures of the mags, markings and packaging with SKUs and send them to C Products and ask someone in the R&D or legal departments.

People have asked c products. C Products stated they don't make them yet. It's in the review thread.

Check the website I posted near the start of this thread. Has anyone here seen even one bullet (projectile) supposedly made by Fringe Firearms?

It's not impossible that some previously unheard of company went into business, tooled up and started stamping out metal ar mag bodies right off the bat..........but I'm somewhat sceptical.......

impressively bad website lol
