was at the range and i didn't have the best luck with cycling the ammo. shot 130 rounds, probably cycled 25% of it.

heard a tip that if i file the inside of the action, that the ammo will carry better.

anyone tried this?

First try more oil. These guns needs to run wet. Both along the bolt and the spring and piston. I find a spray works best and a light pass over with a cloth. My warrior cycled target loads fine.

Someone may have suggested to polish the inner chamber maybe.
Do not file anything till you describe further the troubles.
Once removed you can not put more metal back.
Is the trouble your experiencing a similar trouble as the common Rem. Express extraction problems of yore??

Also filing takes a fine touch, you could distort important angles, and leave rough surfaces that worsen rather than improve the problem. If additional lube doesn't work, fine valve grinding compound, followed by JB Bore paste is a better solution than filing. If your chamber is rough, I had good luck with the set of bore and chamber hones I purchased from Brownells.

If it is running that bad and you are contemplating permanently altering the gun, I would sugest talking king with the dealer you got it from.
I assume this came from Corwin arms. They have fantastic customer service and will likley get you up and running, or tell you how.
Dont file down anything untill you exhaust your dealer support. No one will help much once you start filing and polishing.

Step one... leave the file in your tool box.

Step two... strip the receiver/bolt clean out all grease and debris and lube LIGHTLY with a dry graphite lube.

Step three... shoot four boxes of heavy 3" loads and then try light target again.

Step four... if all the above fail, "polish" the bolt and inside of the receiver with metal polish and 0000 steel wool.

I would so something similar to this. While the gun is apart, see what parts show rubbing marks, those will likely be the culprits.

It's amazing what cleaning all the crappy lube out of a new to you gun and applying a quality lube can do to the feel and function of a firearms action.

First tell us what shells you are shooting. If it's the ####ty cheap Walmart or crap tire Winchester then that is your problem. My 1200 dollar semi won't cycle those things as the steel on the hull gets stuck every time.

Whoever told you to take a file to the action is someone whose advice should be ignored.

What type of shells were you using? Was the action properly lubricated?

I'd suggest trying another perhaps more powerful shell and spraying some G96 inside the action.

Eventually the gun should smooth up without you having to take a file to it.

Never had an issue with those Wal-Mart or Cdn Tire dirty cheapies as so many refer to them as from any Browning I ever owned and I shot them though first a Gold Spotting Clàys, then a Silver 3.5" waterfowl and lastly a 3.5" Maxus!! Never once had a FTF or FTE.

My 3" SX-3 is flawless with any load that I have tried. My 3-1/2" SX-3 will FTE about once per round of skeet with Winchester Super Target 1-1/8 ounce loads. Both guns are flawless with the Kent 1 ounce loads.

I run Kent 1 oz or Win AA thru my Browning Silver and Maxus and they are flawless also... I keep my guns clean... strip after every session or outing... may not need it all the time, but I feel better when it has been done.
