High Standard 28G pump

Pretty rare little gun in 28ga today. I have a collection of 28's and it took me quite a while to find one of those.VR and yours is probally mod choke
The High Standard FLITE KING shotgun series was manufactured in the sixties and early seventies stopping around 1975 due to poor quality control and from parts and metallurgy failures in the field. That being said the 28ga seemed not to be affected probally due to the third party that made that version
Yours is in way better shape than mine was when I got it and to the right buyer will bring a fair dollar
The boys will look in the book and say 250-300 value but it will bring more in the 500 -550 range if you are going to sell it and in no rush
I say try to show me a few more when they think I am nuts with that price. Bet they can't in canada in 28ga
Thanks for sharing and an excellent score indeed. For me she would be a keeper
Cheers

you got your self a wonderfull little upland bunny gun ,,thy were not a high grade gun but thy did what thy were made to do and yours looks to be in fine shape ,,Dutch

I did some research. Assembly date code of AM is Jan. 1969.
The choke is not marked. The bore measures .535" at the muzzle.
There are two stars stamped on the barrel, choke marking code??
Would that be Full or Modified?

From what I could gather on the web, your choke measures to exactly, improved modified.

Smack dab in the middle of your two guesses friend!

My sentiments exactly!
it may not be a Win or a Browning but to say the value is only$300 is not correct if they are not found, in the shape this one is in , and if the gun is what a guy is looking for!
i don't shoot pumps much but I sure do like that one!

For myself ,$300.00 would be the top of the mark for one of these shotguns. If I were to pay more than that, I would go for a used Browning Model 12 or Remington Model 870 Wingmaster. The High Standard Flite King shotguns were not a top of the line shotgun.

3macs1, you say third party made it? I am curious about that statement. Who did make the shotgun pictured?

My best guess was savage/stevens since they made many of the late 60's vintage that were rebranded flite king. Some were also made overseas. Don't know where
Also the action in the 28ga was different than the others which I think is one of the reasons they didnot seem to give the issues seen in the others
Kind Regards

Imagine they originally sold new for under 100 bucks.take care

Very nice.

This pic of page is from a 1969 Shooter's Bible. Your ** choke would be modified from the reference table in the bottom right hand corner of the page.

$500 would be optimistic in the Canadian market $350 to maybe $400 not highly sought after model gauge makes it unquie . As seen with many other make models and gauges in this country Canadians are not shotguners . There are only about 6-10 guys on this site that even care abut nice smooth bores
