It seems Type 81 is coming

Says the guy who professes to be a dirt shooter. I guess if you keep reposting those two words randomly you are bound to be right from time to time just on the odds of it.

But guaranteed to be wrong a few times too.

Haha, dirt shooter! Lmao

Anyways, I'd buy about 4 of these lol.

Bill C42 limits the amount of time the RCMP can spend classifying a rifle to one year, IIRC.
And if the government didn't like the classification they would be able to change it.

It doesn't limit the time the RCMP have to classify. It limits the time they have to change their classification without applying to parliament to change it. After one year they have to apply to parliament for a classification change.

Oh, so it's a one year "grace period" for the RCMP if they "screw up" and decide to change their minds?
Well that certainly doesn't have the teeth I thought it did.

It locks them into a decision. If that rule had been in place, pretty much every reclassification made previously wouldn't have happened.

It is good. It provides for oversight not previously had.

I just want to buy one of these already...I just hope the price is at least competitive with the VZ58...in my opinion the type 81 looks better, is more robust looking, action looks simpler, and the full stock looks better...

There is no practical reason why this Type 81 should be at the RCMP for classification for 3 effing years!!! It's a SKS with AK-lookalike furniture and a slightly shortened barrel.

I'm very much afraid that the RCMP Firearms Lab is deliberately stalling, hoping that a non-CPC government will be in power soon. This kind of bullsh!t needs to be stopped NOW, and the PM/Cabinet can do it merely by issuing an Order-in-Council.

If it's a variant of anything (highly debateable) it's a variant of the SKS-D. Believe it or not, it was designed to be more reliable than the AK, it has the SKS carrier with a distinct, rotary bolt. It uses no AK parts.

Is it me, or does that look like he's saying; "If I get the chance to eff up your life, you know I will - he he he"

or maybe it's "trust me, I'm a gynecologist"
