Hi what are the upgrades that the CZSP01 Shadowline has on the regular Shadow?
Is the spring guide rod on the Shadow also steel?
What are the différences?

Thanks for your time

Gilbert

The Shadow is more gun than anyone can possibly outshoot. Getting a Shadowline is like owning a ferrari and only being able to drive on public roads. Great to have the extra features, but not worth it when you're cruising at the same speed as a civic.

shadowline not worth extra money over a regular Shadow.

If you shoot IPSC production, it is. Factory tuned trigger and legal in IPSC production.

Between all the other stuff mentioned, having a factory gunsmith go over the trigger is a nice bonus.

I bought the Canadian Edition because I had the extra money to blow anyway. But it is like Conscript says it's like having a high performance car and there's not too many places to drive it.I shoot IDPA at club level so it's a little overkill when everyone else is shooting S&W range kits.Don't get me wrong thou it's scary accurate and I look good standing around with my custom Kydex " Kryptic Typhoon "holster and mag pouches ....:evil:b:

If you bought a Shadowline over a year ago, you hit the jackpot. I got mine a little over a year ago from CRAFM under $ 900. Buying now will cost you an extra $ 300-400 for the upgrades mentioned. A regular shadow is a better deal with some DIY upgrades. Dlask for the thin Al Grips and springs to save on shipping cost. If you are from Southern ON, Select Shooting Supplies carries CZ Parts.

A couple years ago when the shadow line was a $100 upgrade, it was worth it. If I was tempted to spring for an upgraded shadow now, I would go right to the standard Canadian edition

Personally I would pay the $1700 or so for a lightly used Tanfo Stock 2 from the EE rather than a Canadian Shadow.

I love the tanfoglio too....might have to sell a kidney to get one.....seen a couple come up on ee...sadly can't muster the funds....still it's good to want...lol

Factory tuned trigger?????? Hahaha... I call it BS, just a marketing BS

I also did not perceive any difference between my shadow trigger and a friends canadian edition one. Both new pistols.

Only things I don't like on the shadow is the poor slide release (not lefty friendly, but then few are), and I tend to crowd the safety, which really adds to the trigger pull when it is partially engaged.

I'd like to have either a stiffer safety, if that can be had, or perhaps get low profile ones that I won't bump.

I have a Shadow manufactured in 2009. Bought it used at 2K mileage, now it is at 30K (replaced a broken slidestop at 28K and a broken extractor at 29K)......runs grate, shot 28 IPSC matches including 3 Provincials with no problems AT ALL. Will not trade it for a new shadowline , period. Oh, wait, I will: shadowline plus $100K ;)

You just described the Shadowline. Shorter lever on the slide stop and slim safeties.

I put the 13 pound recoil and main springs into my Shadow, stainless guide rod, and competition hammer...love it now!
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the adjustable rear sight...love that too!

That and a pair of grips too for $400 more ;)

But, yeah, I can live with the slide release, but the safeties will probably go. I might spring for a target rear sight too some day.

I've not changed springs, and I'm not sure about the guide Rod. Plastic offends me on general principals, but it's not like this is a high stress part.

I'm trying not to indulge in farkle madness with new pistols anymore. At least not until I've shot them enough to determine what I genuinely need to improve.
