This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

All this talk about CT and Aguila, my local has it too both HV and SV at $6.49 a box, but that's 40 to a box not 50.

The stuff I bought was 50 count. Maybe the 40 grain on the label threw you off?

I just noticed the Eley Prime on the box as well. I checked the Aguila site, and this was on there:
Aguila’s rimfire ammunition uses ELEY technology, the same used by Olympic shooting teams, and clean combustible powders to offer maximum output at controlled pressures.

Grain- 40
Muzzle ft/sec- 1255
100 yds ft/sec- 1,036
Muzzle ft/lb- 140
100 yds ft/lb- 95

Was in my local CT tonight, and they had a bunch of this stuff. I might grab some more tomorrow. My guy told me that they are not even going to try and get the US stuff anymore. They are now importing this from Mexico.

It's entirely possible, I'm willing to be wrong as I saw the 40 on the box and automatically went with count, not weight. Could well be there again tomorrow and will confirm my error. Either way, the CT in Prince George has them in stock for those that need. Cheers!

Edit - Confirmed, my error. The "40" I saw was inside a diamond shape with no identifying detail such as quantity or grain, so I assumed quantity. That's some small print in those boxes.

Also, the PG CT now has nine boxes of SV on the shelf as of noon today, no HV left. Seems to be moving.

Can someone please quit talking and shoot there Aguila stuff and let us know if its any good!!!
I bought 3 of each cause the box looks cool, plan is to shoot one and save the other two as might never see them again - windy and/or rainy here all week. Pretty sure hit a wad of CT money and some gift cards around here, so that would make em almost free! Lol.
Since adding 4 rimfires to the arsenal been collecting ammo most of fall/winter if I knew what I know today I'd have bought lots more before Xmas. Past up stuff that's a good deal today, lots of my out of the way places earlier are now bare too :(

The SV stuff shot ok in my 10/22 with Dlask 12.5" X-treme chambered barrel. 10 shot groups were around .75" at 50 yds. Has a funky smell to it! Made the day after Burrito night?

Auggie D.

My local seem to have a lots of Blazer .22 LR 40gr lead round nose, 500 rounds brick. If people are so desperate, I can help. He said he has enough supply for about two weeks. I bought myself 6 bricks so far. 28 $ per brick.

Aguila Super Extra Standard Velocity 40gn LRN, shot in a Ruger Mark II with many target modifications. One-handed (ISSF Standard Pistol) kept them all in the black, slow or rapid fire. Nowhere near as tight as my favourite CCI Pistol Match (but where on this green Earth can I get that now?), but I was rather pleased with it.

The Standard is on the verge of super-sonic, so it's got plenty of energy to cycle non-target semis. Sub-Sonic is 1.080fps which is usually more of a target velocity, SS I expect to be under a thousand. Aguila also manufactures other slower varieties like a Quiet, as of yet not imported.

(‘Aguila’ means ‘eagle’ by the way. I used to vacation in Cuernavaca where their factory is all the time.)

Price gouging is alive and well at Gagnon's Sports, Oshawa. They're selling 500 rounds of Remington .22 for $89.99. Plenty on the shelves. Anybody for a case or two?
