ORA CQBm3 - AAR and Stats

We lay on our strong side and shoot the rifle sideways. With a AR-15, I find it can be made very comfortable and stable by:

Collapsing the butt, so I can get a good sight picture through the optic,

Resting head on the ground,

Using middle finger on the trigger, instead of trigger finger,

Using the practice shoot to learn where to aim, to center the group.

I have found that I can get mostly bulls in this shoot.

On the other hand, I when it comes to the shooting on the move, I am happy to just get 10 hits, anywhere on the paper. Anyone got any coaching suggestions?

We can ask them to start using bigger paper.

I try to walk heel-toe, shooting when my forward foot is flat on the ground. That way the "shock" of foot impact is gone, and your sight should be steady for most of a second. Practice at home in dry fire or at a local range of they allow that sort of thing. Use a timer too so you are training to the correct cadence/ time limit.

What kind of group/score can you get on this stage? Can you get all 3s or better? That would be my next objective.

I did last time I shot it, but looking at my stats records that is the exception not the norm. I seem to usually sneak in one or two 2s.
I also always shoot an AR so the recoil is minimal and the ergomics are superb. It's a platform that is relatively easy to shoot well.

Ganderite kicks butt! Especially with that SKS. One of these years I need to branch out! Great job everyone! :)

Cheers,
Barney

Every shooting sport is a combination of quality equipment ($) and shooting skill. CQB may be the best game where big dollars don't buy many points. Everyone can be competitive.

I broke 400 with a SKS and iron sights. My "minimalist" (cheap) approach.

A garden variety AR-15 with a simple optic is about as good as it gets. The rest is just shooting and fun.

Nexyt shoot will be a CZ858 and a 1911 Commander 45.
