Purchased a CZ 75 Sp-01 Shadow from Prairie Gun Traders- all my guns have come from them actually. I poured over thread after thread, spoke to people, shot about 7 different pistols, then decided on the CZ. It's my first restricted, so I'm not going to be able to pick it up till next week, when the ATT is done. Pretty excited to shoot it! No pictures yet, but will probably post a couple in here once I get it. I feel like a kid before Christmas.

Thanks guys! Yes PGT is my favorite shop that I have visited for sure. Proud to say they are local. Does anyone know of a good Canadian retailer for the CZ upgrades?

If I were you I would just shoot lots with it before upgrading anything. Buy ammo instead. Upgrade/change it later.

I agree with you there, but I wanted to see how the smaller grips felt. The factory grips felt a bit bulky in my hands, but it was by far the most comfortable pistol I have held. I only ordered a couple things. Not going to get crazy, because I do need to learn to shoot it.

I'm sure you'll love the thin aluminum grips...whilst I like the factory rubber, the grip tape on mine is awesome....tis a super fine first restricted....enjoy..

Right on! A hearty congrats on your first along with a proven platform & maker! CZ's (rifles / pistols) are starting to give Ruger a run for the money in the safe's real estate.......

D.K.

I hear you...i know its heracy, but my Cz's and clones (tanfoglio, jericho, etc ) are taking over from the 1911 platform...

This grips I bought don't have the grip tape like on the CZCustoms website. I ordered some from Dlask. They are checkered and I'm hoping provide the result I was hoping for. I broke my thumb many moons ago and I found it a bit difficult to reach the mag release, due to reduced mobility in my thumb. I was hoping the thinner grips would help with that. If not, I saw there are extended mag releases, but would have to ask some questions prior to ordering one.

I actually was going to get a Ruger Sr9, but I just don't like the feel of polymer guns, and don't shoot as good with them. I tried a glock 17, ruger, and xd9. Didn't like any of them. I still haven't shot a 1911 though, which I probably should have prior to pulling the pin on the CZ. I hav a feeling I won;t regret it though. Many posts of approval on here, which is comforting!

This is the grip I ordered.

The one thing that I may not like is that it might be slippery in my hand, as they sweat a lot. The one downside I see of replacing rubber grips. May end up shooting it with gloves to counter that.

I got the cz custom grips, they come in a range of colours, with grip tape panels....might work well for you

They look like really nice grips. I almost ordered those instead. I just felt inclined to support a Canadian store, once someone mentioned Dlask. Plus ordering stuff from the States leaves a bad taste in my mouth with the crappy exchange rate as of late. I guess it's not too bad now. But still bugs me.
