Sig SSG 3000 My new toy

Amazing rifles, incredible accuracy for a stock rifle, both of mine are easy sub .5 MOA with quality factory fodder... JP.

Did you stage your rifle as if you were going to shoot... in your living room?

Nice rifle. Let us know how it shoots. Lucky to have the good stock on it too.

Great purchase! Is yours one of the more recent manufacture with the Exeter stamping?
Also, what bipod is that? thinking mine could do with an upgrade :)

caramel, why did a rifle with such a cheap plastic stock deserve such a quality scope? Might as well be a Savage. Your setup was almost enviable except for an abysmal looking stock! What a tragedy! And curious, if it is fodder, can it really be quality also?

Initial poster- how about some commentary on your acquisition? Your photo staging is pleasantly appealing and brings joy to all those who see it.

I bought 10 S&B scopes in the last 2 years, they are my go to scopes, elderly eyes make them a great asset in shooting, all my AR's have a S&B to, it's very hard to use a lesser scope when you are use to them S&B.... JP.:dancingbanana:

Savages are not in the same league as the SSG 3000, those are very close to a custom rifle... JP.

thank you for sharing pics of your rifle very nice . the test target that came with the rifle has a 5 shot group of .479 with factory ammo I am sure I can do better with quality ammo like Lapua 155 grain scenars or Hornady 168 grain A Max super performance.

Both test targets that came with my 3000's have been shoot in Germany, one is .4 MOA the other one is .45 MOA... The picture is 5 shots of GMM 168 gr at 100 yard measuring .5 MOA ( the one with the S&B scope ) JP.

lol funny u mentioned that yes I was planning to go zero the rilfe but could not due to rain all day so I decided to stage the rifle for a pic. plus I was waiting for some 155 Lapua Scenar Ammo to arrive. I still have not fired it, planning for this weekend. I will certainly let u know how it shoots. expecting sub .5 MOA

the ones that come through US have the synthetic stock made by Sig USA now and the barrel has a 1.11 twist the ones with McMillan stock come from Germany in a 1.12 twist. the bipod is made by G G and G it cost about $250 US a little expensive but I think its worth it check it out on their website mine is quick detachable and goes on a pic rail adaptor

Odd that they would have a different twist rate. You would think they would have the same barrel. I'm was under the impression that the plastic stick version was just a newer, cheaper version that brought the price point down with a cheaper stock.

I wonder if the German units are still being made...
