New shooters looking through a scope AHHH

This post is 100% BS. To quote/paraphrase the poster "its frustrating to see such stupidity in a post like this":

No one said the OP was "making fun" of new shooters, he is simply stating his frustration here on the forum. Without mentioning names it is nothing but idle banter. To the OP's credit it is frustrating to see such stupidity. Lenses and simple physics/science would tell you that there is a focal length to the optic. With the list of other commonly used/experienced optics like binoculars and microscopes, it should be common knowledge that there is a sweet spot for your eye to be in relation to the ocular lens. If you mount the rifle and see the reticle while continuing to move your head closer then lose sight of the reticle(the black blob) it would only be a reasonable action to move your head back to where you could see it. Pressing your eye against the lens then proclaiming you can't "see sh*t" or "I think the scope is broken" is an ignorant and defeatest response.

As the mentor for a new shooter some instruction is definitely required and discussing the basics to scopes is one of them. That being said, as a new shooter there is also some appropriate etiquette, and pretending to know what you're doing is not part of it. If you don't know(which as a new shooter you likely don't) ask questions and don't assume... It is frustrating to take a new shooter out only for them to act and proclaim they know what they're doing.

This for real or a joke?

Changing a tire is pretty basic too but unless someone shows you how it can be very overwhelming.

All this reminds me of these Medal of Honor or Halo or Call of Duty type, asked a fellow what the sticker(COD) on his window meant, I got laughed at because I was "stupid" and didn't know, Ummmmm, okay , I never played the damn game.

There are mentors...

There are pupils...

And for everyone else , well , you fill in the blank.

Just scream at them like a drill sergeant and then smack them on the back of the head for being so stupid . They will understand you are the supreme authority on guns and how dumb they really are in a matter of seconds .
