Just consider this. If your barrel isn't properly indexed your point of aim will change. I bought a springfield front sight and my rear sight couldn't be adjusted to get the POI hit the bulleyes. My front sight base and blade is canted to the right but since the barrel is over indexed it compensate. So I switched back to the Norinco sight and filled in down until I will get a proper rear sight.
So you might need more than just a front sight if you want to get things right.
I might have a front site kicking around. Off of a shorty.
Otherwise, the simplest solution for a sight that's too tall for a shorty to zero is to slowly file it down untill your rifle zeroes at 100M with the rear sight at 8 clicks from bottom
