Anyone know of a Canadian vendor for a M305 front sight? Couldn't find anything at the usual suspects or on EE... Thanks

18.5, but the sight it comes with is waaaaaay too tall to properly sight in. A standard 22" blade is correct. I could file it down, but I figure for a few bucks may as well just get the right one. I'd want a spare if I was filing it down anyway LOL.

Just consider this. If your barrel isn't properly indexed your point of aim will change. I bought a springfield front sight and my rear sight couldn't be adjusted to get the POI hit the bulleyes. My front sight base and blade is canted to the right but since the barrel is over indexed it compensate. So I switched back to the Norinco sight and filled in down until I will get a proper rear sight.

So you might need more than just a front sight if you want to get things right.

Nope, I'm lucky, it's just an elevation issue. Barrel index is dead on. It's zeroed for line with the rear sight centered, just way too low with the correct number of clicks up from bottom. As I say, it's the goofy far too high blade on the shorty that's the issue, just figured it'd be easier to buy one than mess around filing it. I'm usually into the DIY, but man, for a few bucks, why eff around.

These questions and answers have come up countless times over the years.
The "best" front sight for the short barrelled rifles is sold by springfield armory inc, directly from them and order by phone. Any of their front sights can be ordered. From standard to NM for 22" barrels and even better the BUSH RIFLE front sight for the 18 and 18.5" barrels using a flash hider mounted sight.

Now , if it's a chinese barrel and you are putting a gas lock sight base such as the ones being sold in EE , you might just get away with a standard sight meant for a 22" barrel.

Otherwise, the simplest solution for a sight that's too tall for a shorty to zero is to slowly file it down untill your rifle zeroes at 100M with the rear sight at 8 clicks from bottom

Hey, thanks, appreciate the reply. As I say though, I'm just looking for direction to a Canadian vendor, that's all. Appears there isn't one, so Treeline it is.

As I say, I don't really feel like messing around with filing and checking and rebluing, not when the solution is $20 away. Funny enough, but with my sight eight up from bottomed, the difference in POA and POI will be corrected for by a standard height sight. Math and calipers with a depth gauge take the guesswork out of it. So I know exactly what I need, I'm just looking for a local source to get it with minimum hassle.

Thanks. Weird, thought for sure someone up here would sell them. I haven't seen any around myself, thought I'd ask in case there was some vendor I wasn't aware of. You know how it is with all the little e stores run out of some guy's garage these days.

Looks like the US it is, oh well that'll add another week, but, first world problems.

LOL, assuming GI blades are the same height as Norc 22" blades that is...the 22" blade I measured was on a Norc, of course it's GI from the US...
