Ok Gunslingers,
CQB is back at GRGC! Match info and registration at http://everydaytacticool.com/cqb-match-19-septmeber/
I'm running an outlaw CQB match at Guelph Rod and Gun Club to take place on 19 September 2015. This will be the same type of match that was run at GRGC in 2013, this is not sanctioned by the provincial rifle association or any other organization. The cost per shooter is $30. EMT is preferred and can be sent to admin@everydaytacticool.com. Alternative payment options will be available on an individual basis. Invitation letters for those that require them as a condition of their ATT should request one on the registration form. I plan to accommodate 42 shooters.
Registration on match day is from 0800 through 0820. You must sign in as soon as you arrive at the range. You must sign in prior to the safety briefing at 0820.

There will be 4 stages, competitors will be shooting side by each, and acting as safeties for one another.

Kit List
You are required to bring the following items to participate in the match;

  • a lunch, liquids, snacks. There is no time to leave the range
  • 3 pens and a registration pen, you need to sign in and keep scores
  • reliable carbine / rifle with sling
  • gun oil, CLP etc
  • scope, iron, laser, aimpoint, BUIS or some kind of sight system - must be zero'd
  • any other attachment you want to add to your carbine, foregrip, light system etc.
  • 5 rifle mags, plus spares
  • mag clips / couplers are allowed
  • reliable ammo: 150 rifle rds, 50 pistol rds for the day, plus spares
  • tac vest or webbing or mag pouches
  • reliable pistol with holster
  • 2 pistol mags and pouches, plus spares
  • Mandatory hearing and eye protection

Please let me know if you have questions, concerns, or comments. I will take names for a standby list.

The pens... Do they have to be black (tactical) ink...?

Can I use a pencil..? I like to roll "old school"

Arrrgh! The date of my Mom's 70th surprise party! Darn you Dink! Daarrrrnnnn yoooouuuuuu!!

That would fall under "etc"

I'm still really concerned about the "requirements" of this match. Do I get frisked before the match starts to make sure I have everything? What if I bring a lunch but forget the snacks? What if I remember the 3 pens but forget my registration pen? What if I only have pencils?

WD40 might fall under "etc" to you, but to some, that's like blasphemy. Some people think the only true gun oil is fireclean..... And what if my AR has an FTE....does that mean its not "reliable" and then I get kicked from the match? And how come the requirements say "any other attachment I want to add"....are attachments required or aren't they? If I don't want to add them, am I required to bring them, but not attach them. This is so confusing.

HELP! I have zero match experience so I want to get this right.
