Dunno? Yugo or other less common sks country maybe? Brake is aftermarket. Mag looks funky too. Nice rifle though!

Sks-M/D I've only ever seen with 16" / 18.5" / 20" barrels. That muzzle break isn't factory.. Looks like a 20" barrel with an extra 1.5" from the break.

Maybe weird angle too.

SKS-D... Aftermarket muzzle brake... Missing the Bayo (which almost doesn't matter - wouldn't be able to use it with that muzzle brake).

That gun has been shot... A lot. The discoloration on the muzzle brake and the front sight is a giveaway. Someone's done a fair few mag dumps with it.

Not that it probably matters. Looks like it was decently maintained, and x39 is low enough velocity that it's unlikely that the rifling has been worn out much.

Decent shape cheapest I've seen is $550. Like new and unfired I've seen people pay 800+

No idea what the round count is.
As for the muzzle brake it's definitely a different shade. It's got that purple blue hue to it.

Some of the Chinese SKS's had a shorter gas tube and the gas block was further back on the barrel on the D and M SKS's, thus making the barrel look longer. I believe that could be the case here.

Late sights, pin barrel, and late two piece gas tube. The gas tube appears to be standard length from scaling it in the pic. It's the angle and lack of bayonet making it seem longer.

i think what you were seeing was the heavy coating of dust it had all over it!
finish and color are even throughout
the muzzle brake is a different blue but definitly not from heat just different!

like that much dust everywhere!!

It's def low round count, Id wager that the wear pattern on bolt and carrier to be in line with around 100-150 rounds. 500 is a good deal for that one. looks very well cared for.

if it was me Id find a bayo for it and toss that muzzle brake tho.
