Hey Guys,

I ended up going with a 14.5" NEA-15 complete upper with BCG.

First issue I realized was that it doesn't clear my polymer lower's front pivot pin 'ears'. This was due to the hand guard (12" bottom + top rail, short side rails) touching the ears. I had contacted NEA and they had no problem re-working a hand guard to fit. Since I took off the hand guard I decided to mount it up to my lower, the front pivot pin went in easy the rear one wouldn't budge. Long behold after removing the rear takedown pin detent, in order to see why the pin wasn't engaging the upper; there is about 1/16" of the upper reciever's inside the lowers takedown pin hole.

I have contacted the company I purchased it from requesting a refund. Has anyone else had this happen with their upper being out of spec??

I feel for the OP. THAT being said I can't believe with the hundreds of threads about my NEA won't this , won't that and more and more threads popping up weekly if not daily that people still buy their crap. Where are all the thread about my Daniel defence or Stag or Aero hell even Norc won't do something. I understand NEA have great customer support but do you really want to need supporte or the thing to just work.

I got a NEA upper and lower and have had 0 problems.

NEA is a great company, and their customer service is bar none one of the best.
They do have issues, but things that can be remedied fairly easily, and with each day they're correcting all the issues. Growing pains of a new(ish) business... but still someone I support.

Ya a great company .
Didn't they even have their own in house fan boys with nice new CGN accounts rave about how great their product was ?
I know that was in the not so distant past & maybe they learned something out of it all .
Maybe they have improved their product , maybe they even make a quality product now ?
They will never be on my list of respected company's. There are lots of choices (including Canadian) in the AR game .
To each his own but choose wisely :)

Very true. I believe they've been making AR's(kind of) for over 5 years now?? How long does it take to copy the specs that have been available to the public for over many years!

Yeah, I was tempted to just dremel out the rear lug on the upper. But cooler heads prevailed and I contacted the company I purchased it from to return. I also let the customer support tech know that the rear lug is out of spec on my upper and that I want to return it.

Finally heard back from the company I bought it from. Return for full refund. I've put a hold on a Cerro forge upper reciever and will be purchasing it later this week. Hopefully that will end my upper reciever woes.

I have an NEA upper and lower build and a Daniel Defense upper I built and both uppers fit snugly on the lower. I have no complaints.

If it is out of spec email them and arrange to send it back and they will replace it.

I don't thing nea state there guns are mil spec.
If there uppers fit there lowers and there main client is 3rd w0rld milatry. Then why would they care that mike from canmore. Upper does not fit another brands lower.
Sfrc can't even get nea pr0ducts g0ing f0ward and ryans been a fanboy since the begining.

People are still buying that junk. There's so many better choices in that price range.

How, after 3-4 years, have they STILL not figured this out? You can make an upper receiver on a 3d printer with dimensions found with a google search, but yet they can't make a piece that fits. Are they just making up their own dimensions and hoping for the best or what??
