New Ruger precision rifle.

When I read the title I wasn't expecting to like what I saw but man was a wrong!

Ruger nailed it with this one, takes AR10 mags, uses AR furniture, got the twist rates and barrel lengths right and offered it in the right chamberings. I'm willing to bet it uses a barrel nut to attach the barrel which could mean easy barrel swaps with prefit barrels if they keep the tolerances tight enough between rifles. And it looks like it will shoot. Good job Ruger.

I don't see why it would be restricted. I am interested to see how the multi-magazine interface will work out. I'd be keen to pick a magazine that feeds well and allows for a longer COAL. Nice to have an option.

Ruger and precision are an oxymoron..owned plenty and they all lacked in the accuracy department and had horrendous triggers that was a few years back but haven't heard much good from that camp...Maybe this will change things??? It does look uber tacticool mon.

Ruger is guaranteeing 5 shot moa to 1600.

It's not a semi-automatic, so why would it be restricted? The OAL is not a problem, the barrel length is not a problem. I can't see any reason for it to be restricted, but then I
intentionally try not to think (or fail to think) like a government bureaucrat.

Dont you shoot a Savage.....? ;)
Hehe , yes yes i do, i am not a firearm snob. But i had 2 ruger one uninspirering 10/22 and one brand new mini 14 that had fte every 5 to 10 round. it was a little over a year after purchase i decided to do something so I was willing to pay for a new bolt. Ruger wouldn't sell me the part and directed me to there warranty dealer. That quebec dealer didnt want to sell to me a non dealer. The dealer i bought the gun from wasn't much help eather. So after a couple of week i just gave up and put the mini 14 with full disclosure for sale. That left me with a bad taste in my mouth from ruger.

Very interesting. I wonder when these will be in Canada. They might be a viable option compared to the custom build that I have been contemplating and it might allow for less investment in the gun and more into glass.

My comment was in jest :)

Experiences like yours can certainly turn someone off a particular brand of firearm. Ruger isn't the same company since old Bill passed. The corporate bean counters are responsible for that. Compare a pre- Hawkeye 77mkII to a current model and you'll instantly see what I mean.
