Target Sports Canada Membership

Sorry, not in my facility. That steel core/jacket surplus stuff is a killer on steel plates up close like a 25 metre range.

Yeah if your range is only 25 meters what's the point really. I cant believe that people would even bring a rifle to a 25m range lol maybe a shot gun to see choke grouping at 25m.

I agree, but 25 metres you can still confirm a scope, play with a carbine and test loads...

I understand and in a few weeks, at Target, that is how it will be. Depending on how soon the new member can attend the orientation, which will be run very often, start to finish could be the same day.

JR, I have some concerns with info I'm reading here. You indicated that Target and Calibre will have a quicker turnaround for membership, and also you won't be increasing the annual fees. This is all good for you, but not necessarily good for existing members.

I like the fact that I can always (almost always) find a open lane at the range or not wait more than a few minutes. and I like that I don't have to wait in line to ask the sales staff a few questions about items in the displays or behind the counter.

More members leads to more wait time for open lanes. Yes, I prefer to pay a little extra to not have to wait in line. This isn't the prairies or west coast where most people have several clubs to choose from.

I hope you don’t reduce the price so that every yahoo with a gun can join, and I hope you cap off the membership roster so that we don’t experience wait times.

p.s. To those who don’t like my opinions or comments, go wack off, you’re the ones we don’t want at the club!

I understand and believe me, I am not investing serious coin so the place can get shot up.

To be frank, prices cannot go down. It's a costly operation and in reality, prices will eventually have to go up, but given all of the disruptions and issues, the current members need to be compensated. Hence the hold on prices.

We are also increasing the number of stalls: going from 20 , but in reality only 18 ever worked to 25, including 2 rifle benches.

This is a 30% increase in capacity. In practice it should be easier to get a spot.

We are also going to monitor things closely and if it looks like the weekends are too busy, we will limit or not allow non-member licensed shooters (people with their own guns who drop by to use them) to use the facilty on weekends.

A strong membership is key for me.

Im happy for you but it kinda upsets me! I did my application and paid for membership in April.. Did safety course while the range was closed for HVAC and still havent even been called for probationary shoot.

I was out today, shooting my new AR-15. All I need still is a membership card, either from the Grange or Caliber. I do have my key fob and that's the important thing!

submitted my application march 20 when it was still grange. finished the probation shoot today aug 21. No regrets and complains, only range requiring only one probation shoot.

Filled out the application and paid yesterday. Hopefully the wait won't be longer than 3-4 weeks. At least by then I won't have to worry about getting a separate ATT!
