Ruger Precision Rifle Coming Soon!

The 6.5 CM is the new 308.

Really good factory ammunition and son is the reloading capabilities. Their is a tons of reloading data, it is an easy caliber to load and Hornady brass are not That bad for this caliber.

6.5cm is better than a 308 win for short and long range.
in fact almost anything That is 6mm or 6.5mm is better than a 308 win.
Better ballistic, more speed, better in the wind and since bullet are lighter they require less material so they cost a bit less.

So, what are you all thinking of doing for glass? I want to try and stay under 1k. This is the first long range ( non tactical ) scope I am going to buy and I am sorta lost lol.

It sounds like you are looking for a Sightron! Check them out at forum sponsors Hirsch Precision and Mystic Precision. A rifle with the long range capabilities of this gun deserves capable long range glass and by all accounts Sightron cannot be beat for quality glass under a grand.

If ammo was more readily available I would have gone 6.5. I also don't reload so it doesn't make sense for me to buy anything in creed moor until I start reloading.

finaly a 243 with a 7.7 twist, and with a 26" barrel finally a company that gets the ballistic performance of this cartridge, with 115 DTAC its flatter than a 260, just harder on barrels. but long range isnt cheap.
except for the new awesome rifle. Thank you Ruger.

Material cost might be less for lighter bullet but popularity dictates price. 308 being way more popular has far more better deals than 6.5. Cost less to reload 308.

Prophet River's price
LAPUA - 30 CAL - 167 GR - HPBT SCENAR - 100CT $44.00
LAPUA - 6.5MM - 139 GR - HPBT SCENAR - 100CT$46.00

I wonder if you are going to get 2 mags with it If you purchase one down in the US it comes with 2 mags.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't see why they would change what comes with the rifle. Two from ruger should mean 2 for Canadians as well.

A Norinco to mount it on?

Just Sayin'..............

there are a lot of good scopes for 500$ I just got a great leupold 3to9 by40 VXR for 500$ and am very happy with it ,,,,not everyone feels the need to spend large sums on scopes ,,,and 500$ will buy a scope that will work for many years to come and work well ,,,Dutch

True, there are many quality scopes out there for under $500 but not necessarily one that will do everything you need it to out to 1000 meters and beyond; which is what this rifle is intended for.

For around 500 bucks, you can get a Vortex Vipers series scope, either 4-12, or 6.5-20

They're great scopes and well worth it, and seeing as how Wanstalls is a Vortex dealer as well, they may have or be able to get a specific model in for you :D

THIS^^^^^ A rule of thumb.. Spend on a scope what you spend on the rifle!!!!

That was a rule of thumb up untill about 10 years ago, you don't have to anymore. There are scopes fir $500 that will perform as good as a $1000 scope from 10 years ago, I compete with a $600 viper and do very well all the way to 1000m never had a problem.
I do believe you still need to but from a quality company though.
Even Zeiss has awesome scopes for that price now, wish Swarofski would follow suit and after something.

Yes but I will never be shooting it farther than 300 yards or so. So I don't see a need for a spending a $1000 on it. Secondly I don't buy firearms cuz they serve a need for me, I buy them cuz I can and I like to add more and more to my collection
