Apa brakes are as good as it gets. Dramatically more effective than most.
Insite arms sells them.
So are brakes on the Itar list?
I've ordered and received a Flash hider from ironeagle tactical , with no issues. I have a buddy who's on vacation , in the U.S. I wonder if he could just pick one up for me.I am also wondering this. I am assuming they are.
curious what kind of clearance this will have for a scope as well. Maybe get some medium rings and hope for the best?

It sounds like you are looking for a Sightron! Check them out at forum sponsors Hirsch Precision and Mystic Precision. A rifle with the long range capabilities of this gun deserves capable long range glass and by all accounts Sightron cannot be beat for quality glass under a grand.
40 millimeter scope won't fit with med rings. I tried on a full rail rifle and had to order high rings. The med rings were about 1 or 2 millimeters too short for med rings.
So if i want to go with a 50mm OBJ im guessing high rings?
Checked into the Sightrons like you said. Found a couple : both SIIISS 6-24X50. LRMOA or LFFFP/MOA caught my eye. Pretty new to all this, never and any first focal plane scopes.
Also am interested in:
Bushnell Elite 6-24x50mm MD or G2
Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50 rapid z-1000
Vortex Viper PST6-24x50 EBR1 moa reticle (FFP or SFP i dunno lol)
And if i need to stay under a budget perhaps the Viper HS-T 6-24x50 with the VMR-1 reticle.
The Zeiss is most likely out of the question unless i can find one on the EE for a good price. I do not want to cheap out on a scope and regret it later on though. Thoughts anyone?
Is that an American company?
The sightron siii series has better glass than all of the scopes you've listed. I've owned them all, the sightron resolves a whole bunch better than all of those.
American precision arms.
They're a 30 degree baffle brake, extremely effective. The griffin's, surefire's, lantac's, pws's, etc. aren't even in the same ball park.
The Sfp has a finer reticle, and if you are only shooting known distances from fixed positions it might be preferable.
I like the ffp mil hash reticle in the 6-24. It's more versatile, but is a little coarse past 1000 yards on small (<10") targets.
As I mentioned, insite arms imports and sells apa brakes, as does prophet river. For a 308, a little bastard or little jimmy would be the way to go. The gen 2 brakes are easier for end users to install themselves.

Awesome man, thank you very much for the help!
