Ruger Precision Rifle Coming Soon!

All scopes being equal in magnification (4x20 or thereabouts ). Who makes the lightest scope. $1000 range. Leupold maybe?
 
Luv to hear reports of the RPR for hunting.

Debated the RPR vs Tikka CTR 260 Rem for deer hunting. CTR is only 7.5# vs the 10.5 RPR. Too bad neither is readily available in CDN.

Hi Wanstalls

In Rugers own advertisement is says it uses a AR barrel nut and go no go gauges for swapping barrels.

Barrels can be easily replaced by a competent gunsmith using AR-style wrenches and headspace gauges.

Do you know if the barrels are the same as an AR? Like a short barrel from an AR can be swapped on with no modifications other than having no gas port?
 
Everything I have read says these will come with two (2) magazines, is this correct?
 
If you Google ruger precision rifle specs , on the bottom of the page you'll find a pdf ? File. It has the complete assembly and disassembly for the rifle. Also it shows a complete diagram of the entire rifle for ordering parts. May be this can help answering some questions. It also has a pic of the rifle in a hard case and it has 2 mags. The only thing I can't find is the weight of the stock and forend.

Not helpfull in determining if the barrel is of the same design as an AR

hopefully it is so shorter light barrel options will be cheap. If the rifles weight could be reduced to the 7lb range it would make a decent option for hunting.

I have asked a number of retailers this same question about the barrel, none have been able to answer so far., wait and see I guess.
 
Has Wanstalls confirmed a price for the Ruger Precision? Back and forth with placing orders ?? but nobody is mentioning price. $1500 + tax or 1599 + tax. Lets hear from those that have pre-ordered as a couple of requests have been made on price and nobody replied from at least what I have read. Did Wanstalls ever mention price on this thread? Thanks.
 
I am just about to pre Order the 6.5

Was told the pre order price is $1500

I am guessing both calibers are the same price. Reviews show the gun coming with 2 magpul PMAGS
 
Does anyone know if this rifle would work with 7.62x51 (NATO) rounds? Doesn't say anywhere that it will but I'm hoping. ;-)
