CQBR / Mk18 Mod1 Clone thread - Show us your clones!

WCustom-made FAKE can.....inner sleeve made from 6061-T6 aluminium. (Straight tube) 100% useless, actually makes it louder....

No notable impact to accuracy at 250 meters

Comparable to Spikes Tactical Fake cans

The QD is fully functional and attaches to both the KAC and the standard A2 flash hider

Very nicely done. It sure sucks suppressor are prohibited, I put a KAC flash hider/mount on my upper not only to keep it clone worthy but to keep the hope alive until I can actually mount a KAC suppressor on it...

Mind if i ask where you had it made and how much $ you paid for that? I have been looking for something like that lately.

I can finally play again now that I received my new lower (complete gun actually).
that is a whole lot of awesome in one package...

I kept my SOPMOD in case the CC stock wouldn't do, glad I did as it has a bit too much play IMHO but it sure looks pretty bad ass.

I ordered a BFG NSN sling with the SA20 too, and the latest adittions are LMT ch and KAC rail covers; I didn't realize exactly how they worked on the RISII (locking only on the first and last slot) lesson learned. So since I needed a couple 11 ribs I found a package with 4 and the KAC foregrip. Leftovers will be used on the 20" upper most likely, pretty sweet as is but we all know how these things go...

Now you just need a good krylon camo paintjob and your GTG

Mine as of yesterday, i ditched the Emod and went with the m4 stock, less comfortable but half the weight of the Emod. Also went back to the a2 grip, with the finger nub removed it is very comfortable. Next on the list is a kac micro 300 and tan mini scout... And maybe a tan exps3....

I just love these compact rifles they handle so well, i got 3 rd place at the cqb match in farnham a few weeks back!

Your mod 0 does look great but I'm far from being ready to commit to painting my ARs. I totally get the point, and actually like the "worn krylon" look but blackedout is where I'm at still...

I'm pretty much done with my CQBR upper anyway, might switch the 600m micro for a fixed 300m and move it to the SA20 upper, that's where my money is going next.

This thread inspired me to build a 10.5" cqb build. I picked up an upper but it's shinny as ####. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint it black, tan or a bastard tan black paint job. I've tried od green krylon on an upper and wasn't impressed with the results after 5 coats.
Does anyone have a recommendation for different paint?

Where are you guys getting your RAS and RIS handguards? Is One Shot the only KAC dealer in Canada?

Bought mine as a complete DDMK18 rifle on the EE (but sold the lower recently to fund the SA20) and got most of my KAC stuff from OST, all but the KAC 11rib & foregrip kit that I just received from eBay for less than the price of the foregrip by itself.

now ow here's my dilemma: KAC foregrip/CC stock or TDQD stubby/LMT

I like the old school CC stock look but the LMT is clearly a far superior stock, KAC feels good but the TD add storage and QD, but I can live without these. What do you guys think?

If it was me id go with the second option, kac vg and cc stock, unless it has a lot of wobble but that is an easy fix.

What is the fix you're thinking about? It has some side to side and back and forth... My LMT is tight, no play whatsoever...
