CZ 452 Varmint - aftermarket parts/accessories question

Just received an email with 2 targets. 452 V .37; 455V .35, all benched at 50 yards. Both models are excellent and shoot better than me. I think I will clean out some queens and get one. Not sure why - but I can ;)

Ok your to blame for my recent purchase of a NIB 452 Varmint and Don of course.Mine is on its way ,thank you Jon @ PrairaeGun Traders .Also have the YoDave trigger kit on its way

Call J and P. Nice people and they ship to Canada. I am pretty sure they will have the wood screw.

My bad Mark I had you mixed up with another nutter. We need to get out shooting again.Your CZ up and running yet?

I thought you might be mistaking me for Don, but was not sure.

No the CZ is not ready yet, my scope is supposed to arrive on Monday along with some SK Rifle Match and Lapua Centre-X. The only match ammo I have tried so far is Remington (Eley) Target Rifle, it is OK, but the CZ does not like it as much as my 10-22 target rifle does. Right now "elimsprint" can out shoot my CZ & Remington Target Rifle with his custom 10/22 & Federal bulk ammo. I think it is just a matter of time before he achieves the 50yd 5x 5 round groups under 1/2" challenge with this combination.

I wish

I just took my CZ out of its stock to try adjusting the trigger. As I was undoing the wood screw behind the trigger guard it also broke off. Do they make these screws out of pot metal? I am glad I have a set of replacements on the way.

That's crappy. I'll be careful when I take mine apart to install the yo dave trigger kit. Yup that 50 yd challenge is tough I've gone 24 shots all under a half inch and had a single flyer spoil it.It's harder than it looks. I,m still not sure what scope to put on my CZ,thinking a sightron 36 br as once on full power on my 6-24 I never turn it back down.

Here it is with the new Sightron SII 6-24 scope. I have installed the DIP extra strength firing pin spring and extended mag release. The broken wood screws proved to be a bit of a challenge to remove, however thanks to my buddy "Elimsprint" the problem is resolved and the new DIP torx head wood screws and action screws are now installed. Now I will start testing different types of match ammo to see what kind of groups it will deliver.

Sweet can't wait for my scope as well. Is your scope made in Japan or Philippines? Had a great day at the range myself today. I need to order some center x too try.I was looking through another shooters sightron siii 10 x 50, you could see bug holes at 300 yds, amazing. I never had any issues with my screws when I disassembled my 452. The shims in the trigger would not work so I just changed out the spring to the second lightest.

The new scope is made in the Philippines. The issues with the wood screws were not related to the CZ stock but trying to install the Boyds stock. In retrospect I should have enlarged the pilot holes in the Boyds stock prior to installation. I have 2 spare DIP extra strength firing pin springs, do you want one for your new CZ?

Sure are they hard to install?

I just wanted to add a comment about Kinneys Shooting Supply. I recently purchased a second CZ, a BNIB CZ455 with thumbhole stock and fluted barrel from another GCN member on the EE:

I decided to acquire a few DIP parts for it and tried to access the Kinneys website. It turns out that I am having a problem with my internet provider (Shaw) and the service is so slow that it is impossible to access some websites, including Kinneys before the browser runs into a time out error. I sent Patrick at Kinneys an e-mail and he has been extremely helpful. He has processed my order manually and even called me after hours on a Sunday to make sure my order was ready to ship Monday morning. So if you need DIP parts I strongly recommend Kinneys.

Also, I wanted another Sightron SII 6-24x42 scope for this rifle, however they are now discontinued, but I found a dealer in Vancouver (Brandon Optics) that still have these in stock and happen to offer free shipping.

Cheers
TEG

ps: unless the new CZ455 turns out to be unusually inaccurate, I suspect I may be listing the CZ452 on the EE soon:
