This was on the EE a few months ago, my bud Steve1987 scooped it. Then in a moment of weakness offered it to me. So I took it. I typically don't like vet enhanced stuff but this one was neat and a step above most with a genuine SS visor cap skull.

Nice no letter block German FN hi power. With one waa140 magazine. Hence my ad in the Trader,

All matching in very good shape. Holster is unmarked but you can tell that the gun has been in that holster for a very long time, and seen use. Super supple and fits it like a glove.

On the holster are original RAD, SS and Luftwaffe metal insignia. the SS skull is an M1/24 Overhoff. It's missing one prong so they have used some copper wire to secure it, which has oxidized nicely.

Great piece....You are very lucky to be able to add this to your collection...And if you ever want to sell it I .....................
Cheers

SAndrew I've showed it to you before but here's the younger brother to yours still a no letter block and roughly 27,000 younger. No epic holster or spare mag Yet ........ hence my adds in the EE lol. Forgive the packing styrofoam left in the grip crannies, didn't notice till after the pics. Good luck on the mag search

Not struck on the jewlery on the holster,..but the pistol is nice..!

Only reason I softened up to the additions on the holster are because of the ϞϞ skull. It's worth a lot on its own, and likely my only foray into ϞϞ officers cap. I'd never buy one on its own, so it's a neat piece.

I remember seeing it couple of months ago, that's a beautiful pistol. I also remember that holster threw me off. It's fugly. I need to remember and use this politically correct substitution for "bubbaing" - "vet enhanced", lol.

Well if you are gonna bubba something, you might as well bubba something with an SS skull.

I guess back in time they were slightly cheaper! I saw so many WW2 stuff ruined even novadays in attempt to "enhance" when Bubba takes all authentic things, put them together and when he's finished - it's still "bubba"! But damn nice pistol and I always enjoy your pictorials... My Nazi BHP is still looking for me.

I don't consider Vet art bubba. This guy served and it the stuff he can do whatever he wants to it. Perhaps there's a story behind these pins, who knows.

I consider bubba someone who wS doing it in the 60s-now. Haha.
This could have been done in theatre even.

Interesting
All of the Nazi Hi Powers I've seen did not have the mag disconnect pin in the trigger.
Are those aftermarket or post WW2 triggers?

From what Ive seen, earlier ones have the pin, later ones dont. There are exceptions. These two posted are 100% correct.
Two with pins.

Travelers posting:

The manual FN printed in 1934 lists the magazine safety parts. A picture is printed in the book The Browning High Power Automatic Pistol by Blake Stevens. Pre war High Powers had them from the start. They ain't a new thing.

The Germans invaded Belgium in May of 1940. They discontinued the mag safety about 1942 or 43. Pistol no. 94162 tangent sight is shown with a mag safety (p.79) said to be 1941 vintage. Another pistol said to be 1943 vintage (fixed sight) is shown without it. (p.80)

We all know how they tended to use up all old stocks of parts so serial numbers and dates tend to be all over the place.

The magazine disconnect safety is part of the original design of the gun, early guns have it. The time frame of when they'd stopped was around 43. Both Andrews and my pistol are 42 manufactured pistol in which the magazine disconnect would be correct and original.
