Best warranty (for Canadians) amongst the "tough optics?"

I've dealt with Vortex and their warranty is very easy to deal with as a Canadian.
I'm wondering, how are the Trijicon, Nightforce, Leupold warranties for Canadians? Are they difficult to deal with? Warranty is a pretty big deal to me, as I've seen a couple squashed optics by people dropping/falling on them. Not that I'm a clutz, but stuff happens.

A used Vortex I purchased was crushed by a previous owner pinching the tube by tightening his rings too much. I suspect he thought he was getting one over on me by showing me pictures of the optic BEFORE the damage occurred. I sent away to Vortex and they sent me a brand new optic. Joke's on the original seller. LOL.

I've had good luck with Bushnell and some repairs come back longer than others.
They do have ears and listen.

Leupold I've used twice with both scopes being sent in at the same time.
The M8 4X came back fairly quickly compared to Bushnell's return time, but
the multi power took longer than I figured it would.
Then again, a new scope to replace the old wasn't for a horrible wait either.

I have other hunting rifles, so the hurt dint hert...........

The vast majority of quality scopes offered in Canada will come with a lifetime warranty against MANF DEFECTS.

Very few will have no fault warranties ie drive over it and you get it replaced.

Some scopes are limited for warranty due to laws in the originating country of origin... but they also tend to be much better quality scopes so warranty work for manf defects are rare.

I buy a scope for the quality of its operation and optics. The brands I prefer stand behind their manf and QC.

They do not warranty "oops".

Of the scopes I have on my rifles or have had run through my hands (40-50) one was a Bausch & Lomb which I still have, most were Bushnells and the rest Leupolds. Almost all were purchased new and I never once sent in a product registration card. I've only had to make 2 warranty claims. A Bushnell Banner got bent when the rifle toppled over. Bushnell replaced it with a Trophy XLT. More than a decade later that XLT started fogging. Again, Bushnell replaced it with another. Wait times IIRC were less than a month in each instance. Bushnell is a top shelf product for the money and so is their warranty service in my opinion.

leupold.... you send your scope off.... 6 months latter maybe you get it back, maybe you don't... they like to get group orders togeather do things in one big go... its korth group...

Without question the optics company with the best and fastest return on optics they are repairing in Canada is...Leupold (Korth Group). We have never had a scope take longer than 2-3 weeks back in our hands. Korth has a full time repair specialist and most items get turned around very quickly. The fact the Leupold products fail at a much lower rate than many others is no doubt one of the reasons for this. Phil.

I've never used them myself. But, could it be possible it is because you're a business and it could be different for an individual who sent his scope in?

I agree with P&D. Only had one variable power Leupold VX II scope that needed warranty work. Sent it to Korth Group and came back within 3-4 weeks.

this.

Leupold (through Korth) is pretty decent, but for speed of service I would definitely say Vortex is on top. Usually within a week of sending it out, we have a replacement on hand.

That said, in terms of likely not having to use your excellent warranty, between Vortex and Leupold, it's far less likely you'll have to get the Leupold warrantied.

My only qualms about Bushnell warranty is when I had a Japanese made Trophy (6-18X, AO, it retailed for over $300 when I got it) go south on me, they replaced it with a Chinese made Trophy XLT 6-18x AO that was far inferior in build quality. The AO was gritty, it didn't track as well as the original one, and the turrets were mushy in comparison to the original one I had. I know they're not high end scopes, but to have a scope replaced with a far inferior one (that retails for almost half the original) is disappointing to say the least. To top it off, it took around 6 months to get the replacement. Ended up selling the replacement scope basically NIB and taking the hit, then never considered buying a trophy again.

One of the big selling points for years with Leupold was their warranty. It forced the competition to match.

BUT....and nothing anyone says before but counts......Korth Group in Alta are horrible to deal with, exporting a scope to Oregon needs permits from Ottawa, costs postage, takes months...and in my experience is hit and miss. Not a Leupold fan, maybe their higher end stuff is good, but for the price it had better be since there are a lot of scopes as good or better for the price.

It would be nice to think we would get better service than consumers but that is not the case. The few scopes we have sent in for service were returned in the same time frame that end users report to us (usually around 2 weeks). I will let others confirm or disprove this figure but I would only believe people with first hand experience. Some companies have made a name in replacing products that fail but quality optics producers have value in their products and want to repair any that are returned if at all possible. Remember this for the next hunting trip your on...the best warranty is the one you never need in the first place. Phil.

Phil i ve seen in a little more than one year some very unhappy customers with Korth including myself. i myself no more use leupold variable but i have some redfield revolution not the same price has a leupold at least at first when they came. in the same time i have nothing bad to say about bushnell, so everybody experiences may have been different ...

Please be specific about what problems you are having with Korth. Why are you exporting a scope to Oregon when all of the Leupold product can be repaired or replaced in house in Okotoks Alta? Phil.

Again I would be interested to hear what problems you are having with Korth because this has not been our experience. What have you done to complain to Korth about these problems? Phil.

Koran repair Leupold 1" scopes in Canada but the LPS 30mm have to be sent to the US. To do that requires lots of permits and paper work on both sides of the border so in some cases it could take time, it isn't the fault of the manufacturers who are more or less forced to do batch shipping.
