Lets see some pics of your tactical shottys!

Thing about the Magpul forend is that it was designed to be held with that Chris Costa style of grip hold. A wrap around technique similar to an AR-15.

So, when users take the traditional grip on the forend they find it lacks grip, causing many to add grip tap to the grooves as seen above.

I hate the look of that magpul stuff, id rather have the traditional look myself.

DA Grizzly 12.5" with Remington pump and ATI folding stock.
Just put the stock on today and love it!

My Grizzly 12.5" was shorter than 26" OAL with a side folder, which made it prohib (not just restricted as I originally thought) so I had to go with a 6 pos ATI.
Now it's 30". Best to double check the overall length on yours, there are some folders that are still ok, but some are not.
Great lookin' shotgun tho! :)

Me too but Mossberg designed their buttstock for the big guy from the longest yard, making it uncomfortable for a normal human being to use. 14.5" LOP and having to open my hand to thumb the back of thd grip to reach the trigger properly. Magpul addressed every issue I have with the chincy factory stock offerings. If someone makes an aftermarket Mossberg stock that wasn't designed for a 7 ft tall man then I'd like to get one and keep the traditional look for sure.

I dunno. Im only 5 ft 11 and i have no issues with the mossy stock. To each their own. I hate that boxy look of the magpul stuff.

Plant your feet in a shooting stance, then twist/rotate with your hips to both your extreme left and right while cycling the action. You will see how a long LOP functions in relation to your frame that way. Not being able to return the gun easily back into battery again when cycling at the 3&9 o' clock positions
is indicative of too long of LOP.
Also, the function of the Magpul trumps any vain notion of aesthetics.

Agreed. They aren't the prettiest looking thing by a long shot but their adaptability is without question.

Don't think height has much to do with it... arm length, shoulder/chest thickness and and your overall 'feel' has a lot to do with it. 12" LOP on a Youth shotgun is made for kids and females, just have to try what you like. I think the original Moss stock has around a 14.5" LOP, I tried the 12" Hogue and it was uncomfortable as hell... went in the middle for the Choate stock at 13.5" LOP, felt perfect. I've used the original Mossberg polymer and wood stocks without any problems, but the Choate stock with a pistol grip just feels 'right' to me. Everyone is different and I have 2 spacers for my stock if someone else wants to shoot it. The Magpul stock is supposed to have superior ergonomics, can't say as I've never tried it.
