Pops is turnin 60, new rifle present Model 70...wait made in Portugal???

Further report:

The gun is delivered and I have inspected it. Wow. It may sway me from buying a Tikka. Sorry no pics yet, not until after the B day.

FYI I was able to find a made in USA version brand new.

The bolt is extremely smooth, not like glass, but more like precision machined, you feel some friction but there is little effort.

The trigger; Damn. The furniture; nice and grainy.

My brother has a Model 70 Featherweight made in the USA. It is newer, with the control feed and the adjustable trigger. it is probably one of the nicest guns I've shot to be honest.

Just wait until he cycles it about 100 times, it will be like glass coated in butter coated in perfectness.

Just an update, My Dad's birthday was last Saturday, we gave him the gun and he loves it, for a minute he was like a boy with his first BB gun. Now to mount a nice scope and get you guys some pics!

Thanks for all the help, I even had some members PM me with where to find the gun which helped immensely.

Please people don't fool yourselves. Portugal is pretty much more superior in technology nowadays than Canada. Those guns are sweet and improved.

I have a new model 70 featherweight. It's the northwest turkey foundation model... Just has NWTF on the floor plate. Not right sure where it was made, but it's flawless. I plan to buy a super grade later this fall. I love model 70's.

I just checked it out... Made in Utah.
Glad I checked. I have been 9 months trying to get the stock off the gun... No way could I get it off... Pulled, pounded, you name it, no go. When I took it out to see where it was made, I figured I'd have a go at getting the stock off again... Took the screws out, gave the barrel two wiggles and it pretty much fell apart. Lol

My supergrade will not come off. Tried for an hour and quit so I didn't break the stock. The stock on my fwt is a real pain to get off as well. Takes about 30 min of wiggling
