Looks like something he is going to love. Let us know how he likes it and maybe a range report. Congrats.
The furniture; nice and grainy.
Sorry I was just referring to the stock, I have always heard it called furniture and thought it meant the wood.
Further report:
The gun is delivered and I have inspected it. Wow. It may sway me from buying a Tikka. Sorry no pics yet, not until after the B day.
FYI I was able to find a made in USA version brand new.
The bolt is extremely smooth, not like glass, but more like precision machined, you feel some friction but there is little effort.
The trigger; Damn. The furniture; nice and grainy.
Just wait until he cycles it about 100 times, it will be like glass coated in butter coated in perfectness.
When did the Portuguese become the bad guy? Other threads are full of Chinese crap that sells in embarrassing quantity.
You are not wrong I was taught in the military that the wood is called furniture.
I have a new model 70 featherweight. It's the northwest turkey foundation model... Just has NWTF on the floor plate. Not right sure where it was made, but it's flawless. I plan to buy a super grade later this fall. I love model 70's.
I just checked it out... Made in Utah.
Glad I checked. I have been 9 months trying to get the stock off the gun... No way could I get it off... Pulled, pounded, you name it, no go. When I took it out to see where it was made, I figured I'd have a go at getting the stock off again... Took the screws out, gave the barrel two wiggles and it pretty much fell apart. Lol
