This is good advice. Another bit of advice I've read relates to patterning to make specific adjustments - if you shoot from 16 yards, because your eye is 1 yard from the end of the gun you've got a dependable 16:1 ratio to deviations at the patterning target: 2" on the target is 1/8" on the gun. So, if you're planning on making any adjustments on the gun with shims, etc. this will inform you in an implementable way what you'll need to do.Always pattern at the distance you expect to use the load. The yardage matters and a pattern can vary more than one would expect over a distance.
