Patterning paper !

Always pattern at the distance you expect to use the load. The yardage matters and a pattern can vary more than one would expect over a distance.
This is good advice. Another bit of advice I've read relates to patterning to make specific adjustments - if you shoot from 16 yards, because your eye is 1 yard from the end of the gun you've got a dependable 16:1 ratio to deviations at the patterning target: 2" on the target is 1/8" on the gun. So, if you're planning on making any adjustments on the gun with shims, etc. this will inform you in an implementable way what you'll need to do.

Chris Batha has a great series of videos on YT, this one deals with gun adjustments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUX7JV97epg&spfreload=10

Also, off-topic from your request for a Canadian source, but have you looked at Target Telemetrics? http://www.targettelemetrics.com/shotgun-profiler/ Their strength isn't just the targets, their app analyzes the patterns for you. I haven't tried it yet myself, but definitely want to give it a try. I just mention it because it looks like it could take some of the guesswork out of it.

Well, I have to say that I am quite a bit surprised to hear from so many CGN members offering me so many suggestions ! I will add that each and every posting has been - and will be - studied very carefully.

The kind of mutual aid that I see here is rather astounding - really.

A great many thanks to all of you.
