Rem 700 / MDT TAC21 or Cadex. Any good?

The cadex uses roller bearings those bearings are held in place with a blob of epoxy to keep the roller sitting properly in its pocket while the action is removed etc. But I didn't do anything to my chassis but using a fat wrench for torque and blue Ioctite.

I'm not sure? I didn't look inside before hand. It looked fairly tight on my new long action, but I had mdt pattern the chassis off of my action.

OK, so how much larger than the action is the hole in the "tube"?
From what I've seen, the hole is much larger than the action - unless something has changed recently it's more like .060-.080 bigger.

Is the hole .010-.020" bigger than the action or more like .060-.080" bigger than the action?

I read Tomochans review , and it said you would need to shorten the rail for the R 700 SA. Can you just order the correct size rail? And if so, could somebody tell me which one... Thanks . That would be the rail that comes with the Cadex kit. I'm going with the OT and putting my own rail, pistol grip and butt stock on.

Ive heard that people hVe been getting the top rail as a surprise when they ordered the field ot (field strike has the rail, field ot doesnt).

Yes, the OT has no rail included. But I thought Tomochans said his rail, that came with his Cadex chassis was too long and had to be cut. I'm trying to avoid this and order a rail that fits.

as having own both the Tac21 and Cadex, The Cadex chassis is better overall IMHO.

As for Mags, I have yet to see a difference in reliability between Accurate Mags and AICS mags. But The AICS mags have a nicer finish to them.

But for range / Hunting I would go with teh MDT LSS XL.

You have misread my review - I purchased the Field OT ( which is open top and you use your own rail or scope mount ) and the rails I had available were too long and therefore required Dremel surgery in order for me to properly attach the Cadex. It was a simple job - tools required Dremel or hacksaw and can of spray paint to touch up - and the finished project looks like this:

I've been having issues with the accurate mag that came with my chassis (second hand). If I don't slap it home (like tap rack bang) the round doesn't sit high enough for the bullet to engage the feed ramp. Not sure if this is a chassis issue or mags. I'm planning on buying a ruger scout mag to try out. Worst case I buy aics when I start shooting matches, if the issues continue with the scout mags I'll have to speak with cadex to get to the bottom of it!

I see the Ruger scout and AICS mags on Brownells but can't find them in Canada. Do you know for any, in CA.

Ya, I paid $70 for my Ruger mag. The only difference between it and the AI mag I got from MDT seems to be the stamp on the bottom.

My AICS Mags are tighter tolerance than my ruger (accurate-mag) mags.

They also feed slightly better in my cadet chassis.

Otherewise..... Identical

What about their newer model the HS3? I like it.

I've got a 6.5x55 in one right now.
It's okay, only complaints would be the trigger position is too high relative to the grip, and the mag well could have used a bevel to make mag insertion a bit less troublesome.
The xlr is a better chassis, ergonomically and quality wise. I would have got another one of those, but mdt caters to the tikka long actions...
Note the trigger position relative to the grip:
