question is do you put a matte scope, gloss scope or a silver scope on the thing?!?!

its done deal, deposit going in and waiting game paying it off but I have a feeling i'll scrape in enough from a hidey hole :)

the fellow said it shoots 1.5 with factory ammo, and I will reload from the get go with... you guess it dutchy, resized 308 brass!

Plus one on the matte.

I've got 5 Kimbers now. Even the worst one shoots better than 1 1/2". I suspect that you will like it; there's a lot of appeal to a weatherproof rifle that doesn't weigh anything.

Make sure that you have neck clearance with your necked down 308s.

Silver action and barrel requires a silver scope. The black rings will look nice in contrast. This is not a gun where you have to be embarrassed when people are attracted to it.

hi mate, in regards to this, is that due to all the excess brass being forced into the 7mm? therefore what? too tight neck tension on the bullet, or jammed high pressure?

will that be trial an error in regards to once I resized some brass to use calipers to get readings? or is it not too common? or something I am likely to run into?

thanks

Hey also guys in RE the Kimber! the Rings will be changed to Talley lightwights , the Owner will give me those as it come with it and he is happy to put whatever I wanted on.

Medium height Silver Talleys!

does this change scope choice!

The necks get thicker when you neck them down. That may or may not be a problem, but Kimbers are known for tight chambers(good thing) and .308 cases vary quite a bit in neck thickness. If there isn't much or any room for necks to expand on firing pressures can go through the ceiling. That doesn't mean that you will have a problem, just something that should be checked.

Checking is easy, get a couple cases that were fired in the rifle and measure the necks. That will be about (add . O01" for spring back) the diameter of the chamber neck. Next measure the necks of your loaded rounds in the necked down brass. You should have at least .003" clearance to have a safety margin.

Oh, and no white scopes after Labour Day. It's fashion suicide.

so my tikka weighs around 7.16 on my scales... do we think this kimber will come in lighter than that?

tikka has burris ff2 3x9x40 in tikka rings.
