AR-15's

'
This is the latest MR223A3 with a bunch of new features. No more ridiculous take down pin, slim stock, new sights, ambi controls, oversize trigger guard, revised magwell to accept any magasines, new catle nut. Here's more pictures.

Sweet! Definitely some improvements over mine. Is that a bolt catch/bolt release above the right-side mag release? If so, I'm loving it!

Well two years after completing my first build I am only now getting around to putting up pictures

Built on a Aero Precision upper and lower, DPMS parts kit and semi bolt carrier group, Magpul ACS-L stock and AFG, Daniel Defence 14" for end, S&J 14.5" barrel and linear comp, Rainier Arms Raptor charging handle, A.R.M.S. #71 front and rear sights. The Strikefire will get changed over to something else in the future, something in a 1x-4x range, I got a heck of a deal on it so that is what I will use for now. The Strikefire isn't a bad set up for under a 100 yards it is just that I enjoy shooting the gongs at 200 and 300 yards and the steel plates disappear completely behind the red dot hahaha.
Still not to sure about that AFG, I am finding that it puts my hand and wrist in a odd way, I'm thinking it will have to go or get replaced with something else, perhaps with something that is at more of an angle but not quite vertical.
Despite it looking front heavy the rifle balances out rather well and shoots great!

I've always wanted to own and to put together a AR and two years ago I got my chance.............. and now i will ether make changes to this one or start from scratch and start all over with another build:HR: Maybe something in precision and .308.... or........ the possibilities are endless

My cheap and cheerful mongrel. She ain't much but she's never let me down. I keep going back and forth on optics...I have tried a couple different red dots...prefer them over a scope, but today I pulled the RDS off and I'm back to just the iron sights...just prefer the look and the function. No batteries to run down in the middle of a match is a bonus too.

Basic, inexpensive DPMS Oracle + Spitifire Vortex= me sticking my toes into the AR waters for the first time to see what it's all about.
