* FN Browning Model 115 – Dutch Police Contract

Here is a modernized version of Model 1910
Dated 1978 (as per first two digits on grip strap)
Condition : mint/unused (except for 1 mag inserted & removed)
Made for Dutch Police (but likely never delivered)
Came with extra mag and a cleaning tool in original delivery box

Technical aspects are presented in "FN Browning Pistols" (Expanded 2nd Edition), by A. Vanderlinden, p.353-354:
raised fixed sights, round top of the slide, cocked indicator, wider grip safety, larger grips, thumb-rest,
magazine incorporating a synthetic finger rest, longer barrel bushing
89 mm barrel & 7,65 cal. (i.e. Prohibited 12-6)

Markings

SN appears on frame, slide and barrel : 536196
Property marking on front grip strap, numbered 78H46496
Mag floor plate is marked 7,65 m/m
Factory engraved crest ("J") of Queen Juliana near front sight

(Interestingly, author indicates Model 120 and 125 pistols bear the royal crest, but he makes no mention of so-marked Model 115)
So I contacted author A. Vanderlinden who wrote :
« Hello Bruno, Very interesting! Wonderful to encounter new materials!
You have a rare gun, not only here but also in the Netherlands.
I knew they existed and were purchased but have not seen one.
Possible feature in a third edition... »

For your appreciation, fellow collectors

Wow! That's very cool Bruno.

Posts like this make me happy and mad at the same time...happy because it's such a cool gun....mad because our stupid laws prevent me from ever owning so many cool and/or historically significant guns.

Is there a way to find a part time Law Enforcement job, which could enable me to own this kind of cool toy?

Another great post Bruno38. I've got a few nice 1910's and 22's but nothing as unique as that!

Cool find.

I remember when Lever Arms in Vancouver, B.C. got a bunch of Model 115's "new in box" circa 1990 & were selling them for $150 ea.

Had one of them for awhile back in the day.

Interesting source. Any idea how many 115's included in subject "bunch"?
I had never seen any until I could grab this one at an auction
Thanks to you, and to other members who made a comment

Nice, now someone without 12(6) can also enjoy it.

Did you source a factory .380 ACP barrel or had one custom made up for it??

Hi Bruno,
Nice pistol. The one I just sold is only a few numbers below yours- s. n. 536187. Mine was purchased from Lever Arms many years ago as well.
