New Weatherby Cartridge!

There is only one Weatherby, the Mark V!!! Vanguard, it's a Howa in cognito. So stop calling it a Weatherby.:stirthepot2:

Weatherby would rechamber/rebarrel just about anything other than low number Springfields and 1945 dated mausers. I have the price list around here somewhere.

From the 220 Rocket to the 375 Weatherby all the Weatherby cartridges are a rechamber job.

Howa built the Mark V for twenty years or so.
Yes they did build it, however with the one and only Weatherby action. Roy was a great innovator/ballistician when he conceived his proprietary cartridges, however not a gun maker. Therefore, he stood on the shoulders of European and Japanese gun makers to build his gun on their flagship actions, of course with the Weatherby name stamped on it.
All actions along with lot, stock and barrel from 22 rimfires, shotguns and centerfire rifles were European/Japanese production firearms with Weatherby stamped on it. Recently, the SXS and over/under Weatherby shotguns were manufactured by Fausti from their current models. The recent Weatherby rimfire was manucataured by Anschutz from from their flagship action.
The Mark V action was conceived by Roy Weatherby and Fred Jennie, hence the only Weatherby action. Even the name Mark V was copied from Mercury Outboard Motor Company.

Weatherby started on Mauser actions, didn't he?
That's correct, FIC was the manufacture and used the FN Belgium Mauser action to build their rifle around the Weatherby cartridge, stamped Weatherby. This continued until the Mark V action was conceived in 1957 (my birth year - it was meant to be, I guess). It still considered a Weatherby firearm, however not with it's true flagship Mark V action, an action innovated by Weatherby himself with help from an engineer.

Balderdash !! My Vanguard also has the word Weatherby on it, so I will call it whatever I want, don't like that ?.... too darn bad..
LOL!!! Case in point, I removed Toyota Tacoma from my truck and replaced it with Rolls Royce...........I guess I have a Rolls Royce pick-up truck.

If your truck was built specifically for Rolls Royce to sell as a Rolls Royce product, and it wore Rolls Royce emblems right from the factory, then it would be a Rolls Royce. What percentage of Mark V rifles do you suppose were actually made in a Weatherby plant, by Weatherby staff? The vast majority of Mark V rifles were built in Japan, Europe, or in the USA by contractors , just as the Vanguard is built by a contractor for Weatherby.

The example of the Rolls Royce/Toyota (tongue in cheek) is the same example as the Vanguard/Weatherby correlation. Howa was a production rifle prior to Weatherby stamping it's name on it. Weatherby rifles were and are still expensive, therefore Roy needed a rifle that the average person can purchase, hence the Vanguard. He slapped his name on it and sold it. Weatherby has always conducted contracts with existing gun manufactures to make their firearms. The same procedures were conducted with their rim fires and shotguns. As I mentioned in another post, they used other manufactures existing firearms and stamped their name on it. The Mark V Weatherby is their one and only flagship firearm. Regardless of who manufactured Weatherby firearms, it their cartridges that is the most impressive.
