Well grrr I hate being replied to as BUD. I put it in warranty because the mounting holes were miss drilled ( lack of QC ) Theres been a few counts of crooked dovetail cuts. Crooked front sights on 2245s. All I was stating if its off and need to warranty it, because why fix it yourself when you can get a replacement good luck with snap shots. IF you gunsmith for years a sight not all the way in because the dovetail could be loose.
What the hell, it's been a few months since I ranted about the piece of crap 10/22 I got a couple years ago...
Since Obama got elected and the panic-buying of guns started, Ruger has been pumping out Rifle Like Objects to make a fast buck. Especially in the 10/22 line. QC has been for crap.
The one I got:
World's dullest router carved out the barrel channel for the stock. If you ran your finger down it, you'd spend the next couple hours picking out splinters.
Cast over-splash in the receiver around the ejection port. Google this one, it's been a surprisingly consistent re-occurring problem.
V-Block not even remotely tightened down.
The inside of the receiver wasn't just "a little rough" it was downright pebbly and needed a serious polishing for smooth functioning.
None of these were things that should have gotten past QC. I have no idea why people keep bragging up the 10/22. They
used to be great guns. But the QC is non-existent now, and they're just... Junk. Overpriced junk at that.
I've since bought a 795, that out of the box worked flawless, and in terms of accuracy, makes my 10/22 hide in shame. And it was a little over half the cost (got it on sale for $175).
