Savage 10TR le/military

Oh man your 10tr does not like those!! Hope mine does! I have a battle pack of them!

My TR is partial to 168gr Nosler match, even out to 1km. My pal's TR likes 150gr Federal Blue Box, still getting 3 in groups at to 300m, no BS, but they sort of scatter beyond 400m. We were all scratching our heads that day.

If this has been posted, sorry but a good read on ammo for this rifle.

Oh yeah, that was one of the earliest reviews of this rifle, good review, really helped sell me on it. I thought we may have posted it somewhere in the 700 posts somewhere, but good to dig it up again for sure. I also did a test of various ammo on the first or second page, but I really didn't know what I was doing back then......well, I still don't really, lol!

Yea, I remember reading that and just read it again to kinda get back in the swing of this rig, seems they like the 168 gr quite well, a good place to start! So without going back and reading for 10 hours, was there a consensus on a descent, not to gawdy muzzle break?

I got the federal 180 gran from that report for my up coming deer hunt. As I posted, I used the Norinco to site in the rifle but not the ideal gran round.

So far i've run Canadian battlepack milsurp (accurate), 150 grain Remington Core-lokt (horrible 8" groups at 100m, same as my M10 Scout) and Hornady 168 BTSP which it really likes. Haven't tried 180's yet. After deer season I'll try some more experimenting.

^^^^^^If you are looking to sell your 10tr plz pm me

And does anyone know where it says the rebate is extended till December?

I've tried them.

Fairly lack luster in performance compared to other factory ammo and my handloads..... Averaging 3-3.5" at 100y..... Not great, but it goes boom!

Now that marstar is offering the boxer primed stuff (with free shipping) it is very good brass..... The 3 crates I bought in spring are berdan primed :(

Yeah, was a bit of a P!SS off that all of a sudden 2 months later they "found" boxer primed. My 10TR seems to like it good enough, Was smacking clays at 300-350 with it outta my 10Tr and My NM M1a. Not hitting every-time but when missing, missing by very little. Definitely acceptable. On another note, ended up buying another crate of Boxer primed for brass from another dealer when he announced he had it coming in.

Just picked mine up today,, nice, I forgot how heavy these puppies are, 24" bull barrel, beefy receiver, strong bolt and bolt knob!! Great for the price even with the year wait for the replacement! Now to get started on the long range plans and thanks again to all who kept faith and helped find the contacts who could do anything about this. Great to keep reading this thread and see the modifications and ammo experimentation which will help me catch up!
Oh yes, for all who crap on Canpar, well UPS, tried once to deliver and carded it out to a toy store, at least Canpar tries again and gives the option to try again or pick up!
