What would you recommend for rings? Low or medium, for bolt clearance? Would those be too high in medium? http://www.burrisoptics.com/mounting-systems/rings/xtreme-tactical-rings. What about millet tactical on ebay for about $50. Any recommendation for good rings at good price.

I went with low burris zee rings with a 40 scope. there is approx. 5mm clearance

Millets 1" low did the job for me .

I like Quick Detach rings... I use el-cheapo UTGs on my smaller-calibre rifles, but for this, I'll be getting Leupold QRW. The big thing about quick release is: because you're not going to be able to apply as much side-clamping force as permanent rings, you have to ensure the rings have a square crossbar, to lock in to the rail. Then, the quick release is only to stabilize the mounts. For the same reason, I like the Burris PEPR mount for the carbine.

What does the Burris ZE have underneath? The look "heavy duty", compared to the Leupolds... If i could hand tighten, like the QRW... Underneath, you'd want a square crossbar (best) - the half-bolt will just chew up the rail under recoil.

Update: Replacement shoots very nice, no issues, 1st time out 3/4" MOA @ 113 yards. .

Follow-up on my post, called SFRC to advise them of the issue. Awesome lady (Marcie) at SFRC was aware of the issue and offered to send replacement immediately. Received the replacement within 2 weeks. Curious of what serial numbers that have been identified as problematic? Mine was J348547, replacement J348612.

You're gonna love it. My buddy head-jobbed a couple last year, that's how much confidence he had in his TR.

I went on low burris tactical rings for my 50mm scope and the clearance is perfect at 3-4 mm

Are you looking for Dia. of the threaded area, or the barrel shoulder behind the threads? The threads will be 5/8"x 24 iirc

Just bought one myself today as well. I put a Vortex Viper on it and a PWS Precision brake. I'll take it out tomorrow to see how it runs
