Just Picked one of these up today, going to be piecing it together over the winter, have been reading a bit and was wondering if people have been having problems with clearance between the scope and bolt handle,?

Well i have the stock egw base, a nightforce nxs 5.5-22x50 with the nightforce power trow lever mounter in low nightforce ultralite extreme duty rings (0.885 height) and I don't have any clearance issue at any magnification with the way the PTL is mounted. Also I have about 3/8" of space between the scope bell and the barrel.

Mine seems to like the Hornady super performance match with the 168 Amax. I was making hits at 1000y in the spring.
It also likes the Hornady 168 HPBT match, tighter groups (at 100&200y) than the Superperformance, but the bullets "dissappear" at 800.... The extra 250 fps outta the Superperformance helps!

There's a fluted PTG bolt body in EE for $125 in case anyone is interested, would look great for your 10TR builds.

Is it still available? I'm surprised it hasn't sold already. They're running about 189 USD on Midwayusa right now.
I have one in my 10TR and it did tighten it up a bit, but mine wasn't horribly loose to begin with. Pretty simple to install as well.

Oh yeah. Short action Savage is a lot better when it comes to slop vs long action. My 116 was pretty gross.

Savage long actions have more slop? Crap, I just picked up a 110 in 338, going to have to check when I get home. I ordered one of these for that rifle as well, so we'll see if it makes a huge difference.

Well not hugely gross, just excess in my opinion. My buddys xbolt is like knife through butter smooth and no slop in it.
But I like my savages.

XLR Carbon Chassis. They used to export to Canada and a helluva bargain when our dollar was still decent.
