It's a big thing on the Hide.....ppl having fun trying to guess what it will be.

Hopefully something with better performance (BC) than the hybrid at Amax pricing. :p

.

Finned projectiles in discarding sabots (like military smooth bore guns fire)?

Gas propelled cartidges (hydrogen maybe)?

Plastic composite bullets?

Bullet acceleration using solid propellants (i.e. mini rocket motors)?

sierra just released a new heavy for caliber 7mm match king, 183 grain if memory is working correct, betting hornady is running something against it

I'm thinking something bigger...

It won't be just one projectile. It'll be something connected with ballistics on ALL projectiles.

Notice at :46 they show what looks to be a drilled hole in the end of a boat tail?

you caught it...

new bullet design that blows the BC of everything ever made away. First release is supposed to a .30 cal bullet

I dont think so.

Looks like the nose of the bullet and not the base. Jacket is thinning instead of increasing in thickness as it typically would at the base of the bullet. That cavity is just there to recieve the polymer tip.

Maybe...

Looks like a pretty big hole for the tip! Also it's almost to the base of the ogive... There has to be some clue in the video. Like the new GT40 video of Ford scaring the black stallion (Ferrari).

Guess we'll see in a few days.

I think, as mentioned, it's silly for companies to hype products if they announcing something big. I'm hoping they found something in bullet design that has shown with relative ease (and cost) they can dramatically improve BC's of all bullets.

Agreed. All will be revealed soon enough :)

Years ago I shot British 105mm ammo with a cupped base, the cavity (or so I was told) created a vacuum that made the round act like it was far longer than it really was. It was supposed to give base bleeding ammo a run for its money range wise with reduced range dispersion.
