Coolest prohibited oic 12.5 firearm

I am old enough that if I had bought what is now prohibited handguns and rifles before my 20th birthday I could have had 12.x status.... f#ck I wish I had, even for all the pain in the @ss it is... f#uck i was young, uninterested and foolish.

Fight.

Yup... that was me too :-(

12.x pols are automatically uprgraded to 12.x pals under c42.

12.6 handguns can be taken to the range like restricted firearms.

Any 12.x with the exception of a 12.6 handgun is a safe queen by definition.
You can take it out of the safe and look at it then put it back in.
No hunting, no range, no outside the walls of your home.
Useless.

. The Galili based on AK improvements and in 308

Actually, my Galil ARM is in 5.56mm, which is by far the most common chambering for that weapon. The .308 version was for export sales from Israel and was only adopted by a few Central and South American countries such as Guatemala. FWIW.

Unless the law changes the 12.x designation is the kiss of death for a firearm.
The 12.x firearms are ear marked like cattle in a slaughterhouse corral for eventual destruction.
When all the grandfathered owners die off the 12.x firearms will be off to the blast furnaces.
Make no mistake about that.

12.x guns are not your property.
The government and steel mills have exclusive dibs on them.
You can't even leave them to your kids when you die.
Deactivation and subsequent de-registration is probably the only legal way to throw them a life line.
A deactivated gun is essentially a dysfunctional hunk of steel.

When all the grandfathered owners die off the 12.x firearms will be off to the blast furnaces.
Make no mistake about that.

Not *quite* true... 12.6 handguns made before 1946 may be given to specific family members as 12.7 inherited prohibited handguns. Other than that, they're all destined for the slag heap :(

This could be an interesting legal quagmire - if you had a prohib POL, you now have a prohib RPAL, as a result of C42. Very interesting since we were told there could be no new prohib licenses. What happens if/when Trudope repeals C42? Do those RPALs revert to POLs, or do they stay?
