I recently bought the deluxe cutting head and used it on 223 (yes I removed the ball bearing) and didn't like how it chamfered the cases. I switched back to the non deluxe and just chamfer normally.
That's the sort of feedback I'm looking for. What was it about the chamfering that you didn't like?
I have a couple of bench mounted trimmers now (Lyman and Forster) but I've ordered 200 new 45-70 cases and that's a lot of hand cranking. As far as the chamfering goes, I've got the RCBS 5 position case prep machine, so I really don't need the all-in-one Lee for that, even though it would save a lot of steps.
If I recall the value quick trim version doesn't include the inside/outside chamfer blades so will only trim to length, I use the deluxe one with the drill attachment and it works just fine,
make sure to clean the brass shavings from the inside of the die, I would say every 50 to 100 cases so they wont get stuck in the die and bind the chamfer blades
What "ball" are we talking about? 'Splain, s'il vous plait .....
