Hunting with my AERIAL DRONE?

I though about using one for fishing, find schools of fish along the shore. need to find one that is waterproof and floats when battery quits!!

Why do you need a drone?
They are designed to harm people. Just think if one fell and hurt some child...........
They should ban drones. Only the military and police should have them.......
You can hunt/scout with the naked eye and on foot.

See a drone flying around where I'm hunting it'll end up stuffed and mounted on my wall:).

Careful. Lots of drones are not being used by hunters. Pretty sure your truck wouldn't be in one piece if you shot down my pipeline inspection crews drone.( they are mean guys when mad) It's a $20 000.00 piece of kit. There are also SAR drones out sometimes.

Yes you are correct, was just thinking if the animal takes a while to bleed out due to a poor shot it would be better to find it and harvest the meat than to waste it. Still think it would be impossible to find on a camera

You're right, not all regulations make sense.
It'd be nice if we could use dogs for looking for wounded big game in MB also, but there are always a few bad apples that ruin it for others so they just do a blanket ban.

You are right.... Entirely. Besides hunting with your traditional smooth bore muzzle loader will mean you don't shoot far distances. Who needs modern cartridges with all their whizz bang and rifling... For gods sake we are not hunting pterodactyls here....

Guys it was a joke. I'd never waste the money stuffing and mounting a dead drone, I'd nail it to the barn and let the crows pick it clean.

Illegal for hunting in Ontario.

Also, you don't have to be carrying a firearm to be considered 'hunting'. Read the definition in the FWA.

All legal considerations aside (clearly covered in the BC regs, illegal, as it ought to be) who actually thinks they're going to do better cruising over bush looking with a camera than following tracks and blood droplets? If you're open ground, no need for it, so you're clearly implying attempting to find wounded game in heavy brush. Good luck! I ride around above the trees for a living and believe me it's the last place I'd want to be for locating a wounded animal. You need to be on the ground.

If you are really worried about finding wounded game, get and train a dog for hunting. The dog will be a million times more effective, and most provinces seem to permit their use for finding wounded game, not sure about Ontario. This is more about dreaming up applications for RC toys I'm afraid than merits while hunting.

Can't use a dog in AB, SK or MB. I'm not sure about the rest east of there.

Yeah I totally agree. Just wanted to get some perspective on the topic. We currently just purchased 3 for our Fire Dept. very helpful piece of kit for large scale disasters and Haz Mat incidents.

As for hunting with them I am way to cheap for that. Also wouldn't want GRUMPYOLD shooting it down anyways.

Cheers

F**king toys is what they are and have no business in the hunting fields............put on a pack and go hunting, forget helicopters, drones and aircraft in general. If you want to be effective learn to hunt and learn to shoot and you won't have to worry about finding wounded game. JEEEEZZZZEEE this is not an equipment race it's about good ethical harvesting of game, which does not include helicopters, drones, aircraft in general or two way radios............for f**k sake doesn't anyone have any hunting skill and ethics left. First a thread about why it is illegal to use helicopters and aircraft for hunting and now one about drones.............why not just go poison the f**king water holes !!!!!!!! These threads make me want to puke and deny I'm a hunter.
I'd be the first one to shoot a drone out of the air, and if you think it's undoable, you bring the drone and I'll happily remove it from the air with a RIFLE..........if you don't think I can, then the bet is on.............I got a grand says I can.

Drones are used by lots of different people, including for work and fun. They are illegal for hunting purposes in many provinces and states, and rightly so.

However, Shooting at one in the field is illegal, dangerous and irresponsible. Keep in mind many live feed to the operator, so if you start shooting at some surveyors drone because you think it is invading your space, there is a good chance you are on video, and you may get a rude awakening.

It's legal in a good chunk of the province to run deer with hounds, and even in the units that specify no dogs, there's an exception made for recovery dogs.

And I always thought the Hillbilly's lived in the West, got schooled on that didn't I?
That must make for a tasty deer; running it for a while beforehand...
